So it seems like I've gone through two digi ph meeters in not even a year. I've had an oakton ph 1 and also a Hanna I got from htg. I'm not sure if its user error on my part or what but they crapped the bed and I'm basically asking if anyone has any good suggestions and if possible inform me how long you've had it and if you used a storing solution and how often you had to calibrate also.

I used to go through a lot of PH pens/replacement probes. I noticed the chick at the Hydro store just keeps hers in a glass of water, so I asked her about it. She says that there is no need to use storage solution, waste of money. She said they will last years if you take care of them. She suggested that I just use reservoir water instead and just keep it in a glass in the grow room. I have not had to change out the probe on my PH pen since that day, a year and a half ago.

If the pen still calibrates, then it is still good...fyi.
