racoons eating my corn

i have a few corn stalks in the garden and i think a coon is knocking them down and peeling the corn and eating it, its pretty shitty, any ideas?
don't say the .22 gun thing because I'm not gonna go out in the middle of the night, turn a flashlight on and shoot in the dark, lol.
i don't want to put a fence up because it looks tacky, and racoons can climb that anyways.
i did spray some liquid fence and blood meal and put a havahart trap up, so well see what happens tomorrow morning, just thought someone might have a recipe like cayenne pepper or something to stop them.

we have coons in our neighborhood and they leave us alone even though we have the perfect meal, chickens.

why?

because everyone in the neighborhood leaves cat food out for the stray cats. the raccoons feast on it. they won't do more work than they have to, lazy coons.

just leave out some cat food or other easy, tasty treat for them.

Idk if you got any dogs or anything. But most coons are afraid of dogs, but You might run into one big ass coon that could kill dogs twice it's size.

I have coon as well. I tried everything short of shooting them because i live in a neighborhood and dont need any extra attention. Blood meal attracts them, dont know who told you it will repel them but they will dig it up and eat it.

What worked was strong pot brownies. No lie. Leave a few out in the yard, watch them eat them up like the little fatties that they are. You wont see them again for months. I promise i do this every year now just before my first strawberies are ready and it works. The only problem is you dont get to watch them later in the night.

most animal control agencies will come and set up no kill traps to catch nuisance animals

When coons use to eat my chickens I used this recipe with great success. Buy this stuff called golden marlin,mix a couple tablespoons in a bowl with some coca cola or any soda and leave it out at night.Make sure to not let any of your pets out just in case. In the morning the coon will be withen 10 feet of the bowl stone cold dead.

i like the pot brownies tactic, environmentally friendly and very in tune with a grow site
can't say i know of it working, but i think the basic idea is sound
some non fatal edible, lesson learned hopefully
i'm sure raccoon's are territorial to some extent, so if you kill off the locals, new ones take their place

i dont think that will work they will have such a good time they will invite all their friends to the party
corn will be safe but weed stash will be gone in no time
