Plan to grow a few plants right now. Plan to use cfl bulbs for growing then switching to a 600 watt hps mh grow light system for flowering, I rather get a 600 instead of 400,for future grows if I grow more. I would like to know any good sources out there. Buying on Ebay good, I've see some low prices there, or are they junk? Can i get a good system in the $230.00- $250.00 price range. I've seen some sets which included both grow lights bulbs in that price area. Also what type is preferred, hood reflector, tube reflector,or wing system? I want to get a feel for these systems,I'm new to these. I rather have the 600 because I know later on I'll wish I had the 600, instead of 400. I do have 2 plants just started,about an inch each, bag seeds. I plan to get serious as I learn the proper grow tech.,so advise on grow system supplier's would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

start with the 400, learn whats up and how heat is gonna be then upgrade bigger after a few grows.
i use a 400w, im going on my 3rd grow with it, ive only did one complete grow because the first was started with a 150 then i upgraded after i bought the 150. a 400w does great for me, i get about an oz per plant with it. i only grow 2-4 at a time though but i like mine big and bushy. i got 7 ft of room so i usually veg until 1-2 ft then i flower they will be 4-6ft when done.
I'm looking to buy a system,just like to know some good suppliers to purchase from. I like to purchase a 600 system. I don't have money to buy a 400, experiment for a few months, then purchase a 600. I'm using some bag seeds from a friend,so i can learn the heat problems with the 600. i prefer my plan. Grow with several cfl's and flower with a 600,thats how I like to learn the process and issues of growing. Who are the good reliable dealers for these systems? Your answers are greatly appreciated. Thank You.

you dont realize what heat problems you will have until you get the light and find out and then you may not be able to get them down. and using bagseeds is fine, i still do that myself and get some good bud. i got a 400w htg supply one and it works fine no problems at all i recommend it to anyone. and i still say get a 400w. who knows, you might even overload the power outlet with a 600w. its up to you though these are my opinions.

well ive had a 150w i got from htg on ebay, then i went into their shop and got the 400w and cooltube. basically if its a reputable seller and it has some of them sold like 100+ its prolly decent.. your gonna get cheap items if you pay cheap. if you want quality lumatek ballast is the best i hear.

I definately agree, you get what you pay for.
Because of budget constraints, I went for quanity reather than quality, my entire grow is low-tech/low cost. If I had of gone for the best, my costs would have been more than doubled. I got 2, 600W and 1, 400W, MH/HPS combos to my door for around $625.00.
As I can afford it, I'll upgrade my gear....next, a tent and ventilation.
I got my first 600 from htg, with both bulbs & aircooled reflector for like 220 or 250. Went on craigslist, bought a better ballast and better hood for 80buckers cheaper. New ballast from CL to lol. I recommend getting a 600 adjustable digital.

Has any one bought their system from Grow Ace.com or Virtual Sun Grow Lights? They offer the complete kits for all systems and free Shipping and handling. The prices seem fair. I have plenty of space, 4'wide, 8' long and a little over 8' high. When real hot out there, I have a small ac in the room, so extreme heat shouldn't be an issue, also fans will be moving air. I just like to find a good supplier, that's all, I'm not to concern about this or that. I have 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to tweak this. Any names would be appreciated. Thank-you.

Get the magnetic ballast and not the digital ballast. Its cheaper and wont affect the cable signal.I had a cable guy out to my house looking for where the interference was coming from.
