Green Lights??

I bought a green light bulb for my room from home depot, Can I go in there during the dark cycle with that light on, and also should I even go in there at all? I heard that they are not suppose to get any light during that period or it could mess things up potentially? Any answers wouldbe a great help,thanks

Yeah they shouldn't get any light, at all, doesn't take much to knock the photoperiod off.

Try avoid working during the dark hours etc, but if you must its ok to use green light. Thats the only colour of light that doesn't provoke a response from the plants.

Also go for the dimmest green light you can get away with, just enough for you to see etc.

First responce was good for sure. However if you need to get in there and look around, I would only do it with green light. Plants don't pick up on the green spectrum.

Ok thanks, and what about when you go in there. I mean you cant have it completelky dark when you enterthe room. Im prob going to do my dark during the day. But I need to keep it cool in there and turn the ac on or off at least once during that time you know?

fair enough. I've seen green headlamps at the hydro shop, you could always strap one on like a modern day ganja miner.

Plants do absorb a bit of green light and it can trigger photo period reposes. There are green LEDs that emit a very very narrow band of green light that plants are mostly blind to. There are also filters that can be used to filter out all but this narrow bandwidth of green light. I personally wouldn't trust the typical green light bulb.
