Noob wants to show you guys something!

Ok so i wanted to show you guys what is possible when it comes to growing dope with fluorescents
and these fluorescents were not even T5s they were T12s.The dope in the pictures was grown by a student
with just two fluorescent 4' tubes and as far as I am concerned this mj looked good! So basically
as far as i am concerned i dont need some fancy ass 400w or 600w to grow good shit.I am going
to get 2 T5s grow and bloom and do it the same as this dude except I am using FFOF for soil
and the entire line of fox nutes with some cheap ass seeds from cannabisseeds.com wish me luck

Lots of folks use shop lights and t5 for veg and clone. Some use T5 for flower and there lies the debate.

How much better is HID than T5/CFL.

T5 = less heat but also less penetration. your buds may not be as dense as HID bud and may not yield as much as you would expect.

One neat thing is that you can easily have red and blue light during veg and flower
with those by adding and removing bulbs. But as already stated penetration is an issue.
Just keep it really short and I dont see why you couldnt grow sat bud that way.

Yep..you can do it with Flos.
Better results with CFLs

in my first grow i used a 250w cfl and found that compared to my second grow with a 600w hps fluorecents are totly inferior to HID's but then again im a noob and what do i know

HOLY HELL!!! I cant believe it! Look at the size of those....no ones EVER seen anything done like this before on RIU! I'm throwing away my whole hid setup so I can grow popcorn colas like those pics!! This is revolutionary to say the least!!

yeah everyone starts with floros or cfls but you will soon realise that when you harvest and those airy buds shrivvel to hardly anything you should of used hps .
you will get decent bud from flor /cfl , but it will allways bug you that you could be doing better with hps , i used envirolites for years and got decent bud , but nothing compared to switching to a hps .

yes you are right. you dont need fancy expensive lights. here are 2 pics of my T-5 grow. gonna chop today. i vegged with T-5 and flowered with same light. just changed from 6400K in veg to 2700k in flower. good luck keep us posted.....

also just so you know. i'm not useing expensive FF soil. i use cheap miracle grow potting mix. i add marine quisine, espomas garden lime and perlite. works fine. unless you want to be a drug dealer, your setup will work for personal use....

ur right u dont need a 400w HID to grow its just quicker, better, denser, more potent weed. shitt man u can grow bud with a old fashion incandescent bulb just a matter of how good and how much pot u want.

absolutely you dont need a hid to grow good shit.. matter fact you can use cfls.. but dont expect to get ounces of bud.

You can't really brag CFl grows against HiD lighting...lol. Nice try though.

I started with CFLs, but I was still needing to buy because I just couldn't pull enough to float me til more was finished...so I upgraded to HiD lighting, and I will never look back...At first I still tried to veg with the CFLs and then flower with the HPS, but CFL growing is so damn slow and the plants end up so much smaller and less healthy looking then using the HiD that I had to buy another one for veg..couldn't do that to my poor plants...
And like I said I was tired of getting ripped off when I had to buy...so no sense taking the risk to grow if I wasn't getting enough to stop buying it....
Now my jars don't empty before more is ready so I am happy...
If you are happy with CFLs now...just wait til you try HiD...that is the glow of true happiness...

i started with 600 hps and ima finis with 600 hps simple as that i only use cfl lue spec in my rooting box for wen i get my clones then under duel spec hps it goeos

faster,dencer,better all round BUT more expensive on te old lekki

I even clone under my HiD lights...makes cloning faster as well...Is there nothing these lights can't do?

no doubt, no debate even that growing with hid's is far superior to floros and cfl's.But if your grows are dependant on stealth and space,there is also no doubt you can grow fine dank bud with cfl's for personal use

perhaps...I couldn't keep up with my needs using CFLs...and I had a few of the larger ones...one 125w and a 250w, not the equivalency...sucked man...even for just one plant...but now I can flower out 3 or 4 3 oz plants at a time...and that is more more more than enough for me...
