can i use my soil cups in my aeroponic system?

my opinion is, i see why not.
the only thing that will be getting watered is the roots and not the soil.
the roots will eventually come out the cup from the bottom and down the net pots am i correct? from there the roots will be exposed only and not the soil.
my answer is i see why not.but im no expert grower so id like to get more opinions and if possible and results from people that have done this.
below is the pictures..

aeroponic system

heres my plants in soil

heres my plant in the system

what i wanna do is fill the net pot half way with rocks and either take the plant out the cup or leave it in and sit it down on top of the rocks and fill in the empty space with more rock..

wow, its always tricky transplanting, especially to different systems. it might work but usually the system is made to start with cuttings from what I've read. the other thing you could shake or rinse the dirt off and use hydroton pebbles if the soil causes problems. Take them out of the cups though definitely or try one that way at least, the roots can spread out faster and better. hopefully the dirt won't clog up those nozzles

the cool part about this system is the previous owner added 2 filters to the pump.
i had it planned to where i do 7 in no cup and try 1 with the cup.im gona take the plunge though

that soil is too lose and you will end up with a lot in the system. one or two jiffy pellets is okay but your pushing it. i would place the cup in a bucket of water and gently agitate it to remove as much dirt as possible from the roots before going in the system. the plants may droop for a day but in the long run they will be happier.

well if your doing aero..when u put the plant in there you should take it out of the soil and clean off the roots with water(i use a spray bottle)
than yo can put it in a medium such as rockwool, or you can simply(and carefully) put some hydroton in there and place the plant itself into there
i have one in rockwool and one just into the hydroton.
from what i have seen the one in the rockwool grows slower but much much thicker.
the one i transplanted from soil is a very fast growing, but its a long thin root
(just dont break your taproot)
i hope this helped
