society for the most part already plays nice.
Yeah because the government coerces them. I haven't got the time or patience to wait for you to get to the point.
See, you would rather the government coerce people into being polite but the government, despite it's best efforts, cannot be everywhere, all of the time. Therefore, our security falls into our own hands. Thus, an armed society truly IS a polite society, not because people are afraid, because people are secure.

again, a polite society is a polite society. an armed society is a hostile, mistrusting, fearful, violent, coercive society.

so funny that you rail against a government which "coerces" at the point of a gun, yet when you coerce politeness at the point of a gun, it's righteous.

pure hypocrisy.

if the government were to prohibit firearms to the Nth degree, only the richest and most successful thugs could afford the things. as it is, any douche with some pocket money can get one, as they are so readily available.

security comes in many forms, being armed to the teeth is only one of these many forms.

Proof that Americans who respect and cherish our 2nd amendment out number those who don't!

Since this thread was started, 1,209 people have died from Tobacco use.
You smoke don't you UB?
Does it suck to know that you have a 1,000 times greater chance of dying from your cancer stick than all of the 200 Million guns in the USA combined?

No, its proof that stupid and gullible people such as yourself are pawns for gun manufacturers.
Either that or its proof that anti gun groups are very few in number, financially destitute, or unreasonably McScrooge like in their use of charity. I suppose they could also just not be such ardent supporters of anti-gun propaganda. In this case the stupid gullible people are winning so hard that even the anti gun losers are starting to turncoat and join the other side.

A gun without a bullet is just a poorly designed hammer.

Instead of placing all the blame on incompetent hammer manufacturers, instead lets go after the Ammo guys, their the ones who are really running the show.

I'm missing the consecution of logic here. Are you suggesting that differential funding reveals truth? That would absolutely transform lobbyists from parasitic procurers of interest to ... humble merchants of moral suasion. Oh gawd ... I think I just sprained my thalamus ... owie ... cn

I will attempt to answer using the same logic.

again, a polite society is a polite society. an armed society is a hostile, mistrusting, fearful, violent, coercive society.
again, an armed society is an armed society. an obese, over intrusive government makes a hostile, mistrusting, fearful, violent society.

so funny that you rail against a government which "coerces" at the point of a gun, yet when you coerce politeness at the point of a gun, it's righteous.

pure hypocrisy.
so funny that you rail against people that cannot use proper grammar, spelling, word usage, etc, yet you continue to ignore what has been said and twist things around to fit your needs. I said, people in an armed society are polite because they are secure, not coerced. I am one of the most polite people I know. It's not because of any coercion, it's because I was raised that way. You are not, probably for the same reason, that's the way you were raised. You think it's perfectly alright to act anyway you want and say anything you want as long as you feel good about yourself... THAT is not only hypocritical, it's ignorant.
so funny that you rail against Americans practicing their second amendment rights but yet you blow a gasket if somebody objects to a woman murdering the most innocent of human life. THAT is hypocritical.
so funny that you rail against people that are not as good as others when comes to their growing skill... maybe you should exhibit your superior growing ability and grow a pair.

I think you are overdosing on estrogen, it's affecting what's left of your mind. Does it also make your breasts grow?
I'm not sure what your saying. Are firearms to be made illegal or so expensive that only the uber rich and government can afford them?
Nevermind, I think your answer will be just as lame.

security comes in many forms, being armed to the teeth is only one of these many forms.
yes, it is one form of security. I would rather be responsible for my own security and keep the government's nose out of my business.
you want the government to coddle you and nurture you. obviously, people like you were raised to believe this.
this is what I have been saying for a long time, it's very hard to change your core beliefs, in fact, most people when confronted with facts that destroy their core beliefs just ignore them and continue on in denial and that is fine, just shut the fuck up, bury your head deep (in sand or your ass, I don't really care) and stop interrupting the adults while we are having a discussion.

When we apply a criterion of "effective and reliable" to these many forms of security ... which are left? cn

If you fail to understand the logic behind a corporation having billions at their disposal to push an agenda compared to people donating money for a cause you're farther lost than I suspected. Polls show that Americans are pretty evenly split when it comes to gun control, unfortunately one sides voice gets muffled due to corporate backing of the other side. I don't know what it is about righties but they love to be lackeys for corporate causes.

This is so true. Just observe how the media, mainstream and otherwise, continue to relentlessly demonize the gun. Oh those wild&wacky corporate interests; they're everywhere. And that's why so many Americans think gun control is just peachy. cn
