Potting Soil Question

Alright I'm late into the season and am planning on growing an auto-flower strain. Now since they have significantly lower yield I'm buying 28 seeds
and I'll be digging 28 holes that are 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet. Does this mean I'll need 28 bags of 1.5 cubic feet worth of potting soil? If so that's super fucking
expensive and was wondering if there's an alternative to that, or if I could mix the hole half and half with potting soil and the natural earth soil
that's already there, or if I don't need that big of a hole or that much potting soil to begin with?

1.5cu ft is ~10 gallons which is more than enough. Go buy bales of Kellogg's soil from home depot the blue ones. Mix 3 parts Kellogg's with 1 part sunshine advance 4 or similar. 1 bales sunshine and 5 -6 Kellogg's should do it. And u sPent less than a hundred bux.

no you wil not need that much soil dude. I only used 3 or 4 2cf bags for this 12x14 area. i mix with the already existing CLAY soil

I will admit that I do mix 2 wheel barrels of leaf mold compost in though. i just double dig the whole area about 16 inches deep(a savage job, not for wimps). then I just open the soil with my hands and place the plants in when they are ready to transplant.

i thought 1.5cu ft was more like 7-8 gallons. mine will fill 1 and a half 5 gallon pots. unless my pots are bigger then the label indicates.

Alright sounds good, but how do I convert cubic feet into bales or should I just take 5 bags of 1.5 cubic feet of kelloggs and 1 bag of 1.5 cubic feet of sunshine advanced mix 4 and mix them like that? By the way do you think that would be enough for all of my holes?
