The reaction of the plant to "create more branches to accommodate for the severed limb" is a result of a chemical reaction and is done for the plants survival. It has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence or feelings. It is a reaction to a stimulus.
And the book is propped up by the table. Maybe you should just learn to read period.
I am sorry but feelings are emotions and emotions are chemical reactions. Define Feelings? Would you say Hunger is a feeling? How about the need to climb and be free? Watch this and tell me plants don't have any feelings![]()
A book propped up by a table? Must be a small table, or you live in wonderland with Alice. But whatever, that is irrelevant. Chemical reaction that stimulates cell growth. Hmm. I don't think I need to explain that one.
Stimulus may refer to:
^ That sounds like brain activity.
- Stimulus (physiology), something external that influences an activity
- Stimulus (psychology), a concept in behaviorism and perception

Not to mention if a plant doesn't have a conscious mind why does it have the instinct to survive. Or if is something is in it's way it has the intelligence to move around it. Like humans. If we are walking in the street and a car is coming toward us, we have the instinct and the intelligence to move out of the way.

I have seen rivers move around things too. Does that make them conscious and intelligent?
Plants have instinctual actions embedded in its DNA. That has nothing to do with feelings. Not to mention if a plant doesn't have a conscious mind why does it have the instinct to survive. Water is moved by current and current is made by Earths gravitational pull.
"What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
IMO, saying plants have a conscious mind is just as dumb.. Now I'm not saying the person who believes this is dumb.
