Me Ken's Ganddaddy Purple Grow Journal

Hello and Welcome. This is my grow journal of Ken's Granddaddy Purple Strain bought from Attitude seedbank. Ive germinated 5 out of !0 of my seeds.
All 5 have successfully germinated in the paper towel and as of today have been placed in an organic soil bought from a local garden store. They will be vegged under about 400watt actual of cfls and flowered under a 400watt hps. Here are pics of the seeds in the soil. Yes i know really nothing to see yet but I want to make this as complete as possibe from start to finish. Also no ferts will be used yet and the soil doesnt contain any fert either. All of the pots will be labeled from GDP#1 to GDP#5 to better keep track of each individual plants progress. OK heres a update. all the seeds seem to be foing very well.. all have germinated and al of them are emerging from the soil and cracking off their shells. ive uploaded some more pics and thebig plant in th background is just a aurora ndica mother and the other couple seeds next to it are a g13 auto blueberry, a world of seeds madness and a world of seeds mazar x great white shark. Ok with a closer look at the seedlings I notice the underside of the first set of leaves are purple...has anyone experienced this before...should I be worried.

I imagine the purple probaly has something to do with the strain. I grew a clone of this before the seeds were available years back... absolutely awesome plant so im subbed
been thinking of buying the seeds for awhile now, will be great to see how you get on with them

Nice! Do you think if you grow it at the right environment at all times, the bud will come out to be at least 90% purple? I've seen Ken Estes' GDP in person, and that thing was almost 100%! I'm curious how they make it extra purple with the strain itself.

I think I might try lowering my overnight temps to see if that helps during the last 3 weeks of flowering....if it begins to turn purple without the temp change ill be happy....

Is that a myth? Some people say its based on strain genetics, some say it works well with lowered temps @ around 62 F? I don't understand how the chlorophyll pigments can turn purple, if it can't synthesize in its normal temp. The plant would basically pause in developing because its too cold (slow) for it to synthesize.

Mine went purple in the last 2 weeks and temps were 85-90 IMG1789.jpg IMG1791.jpgI think organics and a nice flush will bring out the Purple, along with letting her go till she's done

sweet, i have 2 females i have done quite a bit of LST with that are 6 - 8 weeks in veg. there going to 12/12 in 2 weeks when i have room in the flowering tent. Got a sample nug to try 2 month ago, it was GREAT!!! Cant wait to see the results! ill be here all the way.

this is my first purple strain ive grown. i have grown one that had a purple pheno which turned alittle purple when i dropped my temps it was a aurora indica. so i honesty dont have alot of experience with the whole purp things lol i was just told that i might have to lower my temps for this gdp. i hope i dont but ...

heres a updated picture of my gdp plants. all 5 are doing great. im going to wait til the stem is a inch above the rim of the pot to fill the rest of the pot up with soil. IMAG1536.jpg

Ok.I have a question for yall..I'm doing a 12/12 from seed with a bagseed of mines and the plant is about 2 1/2 feet tall and has very small buds on it now....my question is when I don't water the plant and just let the soil stay dry for days on end it seems to be happy and doing good...but as soon as I water it the plant wilts....it wilts like it would if it was being over watered....any ideas as to why this might be

absolutely none but if you dont water it n it drys completely then the plant will proper wilt n you dont want that to happen. its probaly jus sensitive to water and droops no matter what, I wouldnt worry
your gdp are looking great although im a lil worried about how little soil u started with in those pots, next time fill to the top, the tap root grows down to begin with, if it dont have space to go down thats not good.
if growing reg its a myth that you want 4inch for the tap root to grow, if lower than that youll end up with mainly males, or all males

Only reason I did it this way cause once the plant does it usual stretch ijs the beginning I didn't want it falling.over...so I figured I would fill the remaining pots up with soil after the stretch...but what u said makes since.....I wonder if I should just transplant to bigger pots now...I don't wanna mess up with all males even tho I plan on breeding it to get more GDP seeds for myself

I wouldnt say there be males but forcing the tap root to the side isnt good, I wouldnt start with so little soil in the future, I would also transplant to bigger pots now if roots are showing at the bottom rather than adding soil to the top, that doesnt give anymore root space low down, only new root space to grow new roots from the stem, n sometimes that can take sometime
