There are tons of threads on this already, you might search instead of posting another. You will find that there are many different opinions on this topic, so be ready to just go with whatever you feel is best. You will learn with time what works best for your growing style.

I personally do not trim fan leaves unless they are yellow. Otherwise, if they are blocking light, I tuck them out of the way. That way they can still provide some of their function.

No it wont

You need to keep the fan leaves on , the fan leaves are the plants solar panels in a way soaking up everything that the sun has to provide , or your light spectrum if indoors

You will cause more harm to your plants then good doing that

If their big leaves blocking light from getting to lower growth just tuck them under or tie them to the sides or something but dont cut them off

fan leaves are important for the plant but some people cut them off completely, you can also cut the tips off them. most people leave them alone. they are handy for spotting deficiencies but its up to you[h=3][/h]

dude don't cut fan leaves unless they fall off .. your plant feeds from the fan leaves as well as from the dirt.. you cut them off its like taking away dinner time

the fan leaves are the plants buffer system.....f you take those away and you get deficiency down the road...well....good luck salvaging that one

Add my vote for leaving fan leaves, you would be better to leave the leaves on and remove the popcorn bud letting the natural process allocate energy to the bigger bud.

The only time to remove any leaves are when the plant is finished with them. Leaves that are wasting are not producing. Remove only those.

I don't not unless the fan leaf is compromised by 50%.

I just give all dying or yellowing leaves a slight tug and if they come right off then it was their time to go.....but if they are still resistant then they most likely are still providing nutrients to the plant

Second the removal of the little popcorners. Hard to think of "throwing bud out" but that is not how it works. Newer growers should be assured this selective bud removal yields more weight and better bud in the end. You advised correctly.

Fan leaves are the worker bees, the infantry, the "hogs" on offensive and defensive lines. They are the ones that make it so the stars can shine while doing all the heavy work.

To further illustrate this point when the fan leaf finally tugs off look at the stem you will see fluid moving as you squeeze it at the stem still at 70% degradation. This is a telling observation to make.

and if you are worried about yield you can pull a double harvest.....harvest all the top buds when ready and let the bottom, or "popcorn", buds grow a little bit longer so they will be less popcorny lol.

plants drop leafs naturally keep it that way do ppl do farmers take off leafs in there crops ???? now with that being said my leafs are blockin my buds A DO I CUT LEAFS OFF ??? B DO I TUCK LEAFS AWAY FROM BUDS

answer B

Now there are growing techniques where you either lolipop plant removing lower leafs and bud sites reason its in to shaded area an will not produce nothing down therre but shake
scrog style you remove again lower leafs and bud sites reason canopy is to full nothing but shake will and wasted energy below canvas
being leafs are on lower part of plant they will be the ones to fall first from lack of light
please note when removing any foilage do it in stages as to not shock or stress plant cheers

I would say make sure you're just cutting the buds off and not entire branches, fan leaves and all.
