I don't not unless the fan leaf is compromised by 50%.is it ok to cut fan leaves off at any stage of growth??????????????/ and will this help with yield due to more light reaching the plant?????????/
I just give all dying or yellowing leaves a slight tug and if they come right off then it was their time to go.....but if they are still resistant then they most likely are still providing nutrients to the plantThe only time to remove any leaves are when the plant is finished with them. Leaves that are wasting are not producing. Remove only those.
Second the removal of the little popcorners. Hard to think of "throwing bud out" but that is not how it works. Newer growers should be assured this selective bud removal yields more weight and better bud in the end. You advised correctly.Add my vote for leaving fan leaves, you would be better to leave the leaves on and remove the popcorn bud letting the natural process allocate energy to the bigger bud.
To further illustrate this point when the fan leaf finally tugs off look at the stem you will see fluid moving as you squeeze it at the stem still at 70% degradation. This is a telling observation to make.I just give all dying or yellowing leaves a slight tug and if they come right off then it was their time to go.....but if they are still resistant then they most likely are still providing nutrients to the plant
I would say make sure you're just cutting the buds off and not entire branches, fan leaves and all.Second the removal of the little popcorners.
