My grandparents are the only adults I know that dont listen to hip hop. Just look at the billboard charts.

The irony is this: I grew up with Top 40 rock'n'roll, and my folks wrinkled their brows in dismay. I swore I'd never become that. And here the pop music scene served me something that I cannot like, no matter how much I pretend to. My daughter despises rap as well, and when she wants some thrash metal or screamo on the truck radio, I'm OK with that. But the two poles of awful for me are rap on one side, and my ex's Christian lite countrock on the other. Run hide!! cnLike my father did at the incesent Metal that emanated from my room as a kid

Oh Idunno ... I still listen to Zep and AC/DC and ZZTop. Those lyrics weren't about respectability either. And some of those disco lyrics were pretty naked sex&drugs&stuff. But they minded their language at least. cn

calm down mr.rogers you're not the only grown person on earth an dont have a in-depth perception of what the masses listen to. most of old school metal you prolly listen to was about drugs an sex so i dont wanna hear that.

Some rap i like, some i don't. The thing i dislike MOST in rap is a bunch of guys talking about either how tough they are or how much swag they have.
