Yeah I never rubbed my puppies face in his pee either, i did however bring him over to the puddle on the floor and tell him BAD! as he got a bit older if he peed on the floor and he saw me see it he would immediately put his head down. If he did that i didnt even bother to tell him he was bad since he obviously knew he wasnt supposed to go in the house and it was my fault for not taking him out soon enough. I havent had to clean up pee in my house for probably a month now and its so nice not going through all that paper towel and having the garbage stink hours after putting a new bag in. Also bring a treat out with you when you take him to pee and give him lots of praise and the treat when he goes outside. Dont give in and just give it to him if he doesnt go since hes so cute, otherwise he'll know he will get the treat either way

EDIT My puppy is a lab too, my favorite type of dog. Happy, smart and loyal. Not the best for security though. I think they would rather play than chew up a burglar lol

i got two words for u fab, cesar milan... the dude is a fucking genius. im referring to the host of the dog whisperer in case u were unaware of who that is. he breaks down dog psychology so its easy to understand. u wont learn everything in one episode obviously but watch a few and ur almost certain to run into a house training episode. although he normally deals with dogs that have much deeper psychological problems than pissing in the house, he does handle a few cases regarding it.

edit: oh and when it comes to training ur dog to go to the back door, i dont think u need to do anything special besides always taking them out the same door when they go outside. whether it be ur back, side, or front door, just make sure its the same one. its all about repetition with house training, or any other issue for that matter.

my dogs were extremely friendly when they were pups and still are, but they did get extremely more territorial when they got older. its not aggression because its only when they are inside their yard. outside their yard they would never bark at anyone. so even tho its a lab dont be surprised if when it gets older if its a lil more territorial. its really dependent on how much interaction they get. my dogs dont see a lot of people since i live out in the country (if u can call it that) so they are a tad bit more aggressive than say the pit at my op. she'll bark but i highly doubt she would even bite anyone, shes more of just an alarm. she was socialized with other dogs and more humans since shes in the city.

And for the record I like Dogs but not angry looking Dogs kept in yards.
your just some no minded retard who hates on pit bulls because they kill people... actually almost every large/aggressive dog has the ability to kill a person, pit bulls are just more often trained to fight. People who are fucking retarded, like you, put a bad name to pit bulls because you think they are mean and vicious. Pitt bulls are only aggressive toward humans when abused or trained to be.

What most people dont know is pit bulls are the second most loyal dogs to their owners right behind Golden Retrievers. I hope one day you are walking down the street and a pack of dobermans come running down the street and screw your ass up. because then maybe ignorant people like you would stop hating on pit bulls.

The Dogs are not the problem, the owners and breeders are.
