But why in the hell are you lefties and the media making such a big issue about it, I really don't understand. Is it because she is a conservative or that she is rich, or both?
i think we explained why anything was made of it, it's the statement it makes about her mentality, not any of the options in that false trichotomy you gave us.

and i don't recall any lefties here making a thread about it, that was done by a righty, and wayyyyyyyy after this was ever a passing gaffe by the romney campaign (which appears to be run by mentally handicapped wombats, and if you don't like that assessment, you can kiss my ass. show some respect!).

Well what do you have to say about making a thread full of lies, just proved to you there was no $77k deduction.
Does lying about things somehow justify your hate?

And I believe respect is earned Skippy, you got zip coming.

you have shown no evidence that he did not get to deduct the full $77k, and the thread was about how dressage is bad ass, not about the deduction he got for his badass dancing horse.

and the last comment was a reference to romney's foreign trip fail. his campaign aide literally told a reporter to kiss his ass because they were on sacred gorund, and then to show some respect. i shit you not, they said 'kiss my ass...show some respect!'. i'm sure you'll hear about that in a month or so based on this thread's timing.

I guess it went over your head, look in the tax codes, the maximum capital loss you can claim in a year is $3k, I think you're about $74k short on that one Bucky, in other words, your OP is a complete FAIL.

i think you should look into the tax code.

they'll get all of that $77k at a later time.

you FAIL. thank you breitbart.com for turning me onto an actual discussion about the tax deductibility of romney's dancing horse.

do you really think he would track $77k worth of expenses to save $50 or $3k? i mean, he makes $20 million a year for fuck sake.

Here is the info from the kink YOU provided.

Ann Romney’s love of horses and Steven Colbert’s infatuation with Rafalca, one of her dressage horses, have created a buzz about horses, money, and taxes. Romney owns a one-third interest in Rafalca, and Rafalca will be competing, with her rider, Jan Ebeling, in the Olympic dressage event. In the most recent uproar, the Romneys are criticized for deducting $77,731 for the Romney’s share of Rafalca’s expenses. But here is the catch: Because of anti-abuse provisions contained in the Tax Code the Romney’s only actually deducted $49 on their return. Assuming the Romney’s are in the 35% tax bracket, the benefit to the Romneys was about $17. Not much worth working yourself into a lather about. Since the $77,731 is a passive loss it can be deducted only against passive gains. Since the Romneys had a lot of passive losses, they had to allocate the passive gains among the various losses. The Romneys generated $2,170 in passive gains, and had over $2 million in losses. The passive gains were thus spread across the losses. Once this allocation was done, $49 of the horse activity was deductible against the $2,170 in income. In effect, the Romneys were not able to deduct over $2 million in passive losses.

Thank again Bucky! LOL

$50?

LOL!

multiply that $50 by 1,540 and you'll arrive at the $77,000 deduction she received for her dancing horse (let's not mention flying to the olympics with her dancing horse on the taxpayer dime).

that's enough to feed nearly 50 people on food stamps for a year. instead, we spent it on a multi millionaire's dancing horse.

god bless america.

how about this part?

Although it is not clear what expenses make up the $77,731 figure on the Romney’s return, assuming the figure is correct, the Romney’s effectively received no tax benefit from the activity. They will only recoup these expenses if the Rafalca activity returns a profit.

gee, do you think an olympiad dancing horse will return a profit?

nah, i bet romney made sure to track exactly $77,731.00 worth of dancing horse expenses so he could save $17. that makes total sense.

i mean, it's not like the romney's have a history of doing whatever it takes to turn a buck on a horse, right?

Seriously, his campaign seems like a damned joke. Hes making Herman Cain look like a brilliant political tactician.

But do you really think she should have ridiculed over a damn shirt, is it anyone else's business?

Why doesn't the right get it? Why do they never get it? The right is forever on their hunt for hypocrits but they limit their scans to things done by the left. No one cares, except for folk who operate on jealousy, what Ms. Romney wears or how much her husband makes, or how they spend their wealth.

What we all care about is their pretending to know the trials and difficulties of the common man in America. Romney can roll up his shirtsleeves and wear jeans all he wants to but every time he professes to undersand our current plight while talking about his wife's "couple of cadillacs", or his friends who "own nascar teams", or deducts more for his horse then most people make in a year, he shows himself as singularly unable to comprehend what we are having to contend with in this country. The man has never ever struggled in his life, he has never actually risked his lifestyle in order to form a company, he has never gambled it all and neither has his wife.

Why do you folk still believe any of this has anything to do with how much this guy is worth or where his wife purchases her shirts?

This is only slightly better than Romney's shirt. Obama is rubbing our noses in his privelege. I can understand that he is now rich and very powerful and he wants to experience what all of that is like, he earned it, he deserves it for all the crap he has to put up with. So too his wife. Furthermore I want my president and first lady to be expressions of the wealth and power of the country they lead. I do not begrudge them a thing.

However, when the country is stuck fast in the middle of a recession, when people can't make their third house payment or perhaps don't know where next week's electric bill payment is going to come from, it is in very poor taste for our president to be flaunting his new status. Let her "support the commerce of the nation" by other means.

I am embarassed that this president is doing such things. Carter packed his own suitcase (and tried to carry it if I recall), he lived frugaly during the time his country was forced to do so as well. People tend to forget that about him. Obama should do the same and save his wealth for after he no longer is the focal point of a harried nation.

In and of themselves, this isn't such a bad list.

It's the tax returns dude. The guy didn't pay any taxes. The rich are electing their own in order to perpetuate their wealth and we are all just along for the rough ride.

Absolutely, my little list is just a basic recipe for the cake. I could have mentioned he possibly commuted voter fraud when he used his sons unfinished basement as his address and many other acts of his political bafoonery.

His tax returns are the icing on that cake
