If your exposure was recent, you should try to wash it off, but be careful you don't spread it. I'd dab carefully with soapy paper towels and make sure it doesn't run down your leg...

Ok I know you're not in a happy mood so I'll tell you a story of when I was young.
I was helping a friend burn Poison Oak on his ranch and ended up getting it all over and in my throat and stomach.
I got shots and the Doc, sent me home to soak under wash cloths soaked in Epsom salts to dry it out.
I was miserable laying there it hurt and itched and I couldn't sleep.
My Dad left for work and soon after my Mom left also.
My little brother sit there and teased me and said have fun laying there itching I'm going to school...
He left and I got up, went to his room opened his underwear drawer and put a pair of his shorts on
till the end of the day and put them back after wearing them all day.

He got it good and I didn't tell him till we were well into our 40s LOL. He still got pissed.

I do got that.
it isnt going to cure it or anything, just help with the pain maybe a little.. i used to hate getting poison ivy, i had it all over my junk before so dont feel bad, the worst was when i was like 8 maybe? i was in 3rd grade haha, i fell off a tree at a state park and broke my wrist in 2 places, fell right in poison ivy and had it all over my face and shit... my eyes the next morning were sealed shut from being so puffy and i was just covered in it, the worst was the poison under the cast.. when they pulled my cast there was like pencils and paper clips jammed in it from trying to itch my wrist lol worst 4 weeks ever

The clorox will dry it out and so will the Epsom Salts, good news maybe you'll be immune to it after this.

It'll make your nutsack smell sort a rainbow pony, but not permanently. Don't waste another minute ... cn
Alright I have done went and disinfected my entire affected regions. Burning is a welcome feeling at this point. If my wife would have arrived home from shopping as I was administering said potion, I imagine I would have had some explaining to do!!

But does it feel better after the rinse?
Every time that itch comes back, repeat treatment. I used a Q-tip to keep the applications local. cn

I had a sun burn down there one time and the only way I could get it to quit hurting was to soak
it in milk, god it felt so good but the wife walked in on me and said...

I always wondered how you loaded that thing...

I used a paper towel because I'm high and destructive. Rinse you say? I'll be right back. :eyesmoke:
I personally use straight Clorox and can endure maybe une minute before I make a loud sound between clenched teeth and rinse. What stays behind is a feeling more like a scraped knee, which is blessed relief by comparison. The absence of a glowing "holy shit it works!" post makes me wonder if I gave you incomplete directions. cn

God this could be funny. He goes on the computer for a min. and heads to the laundry room and pours bleach on himself
comes back reads some more then heads to the Bathroom an washes it off.
Comes back and lights a pipe.
Make sure you air them out a little bit.

Man I'm sorry, theres nothing funny about it....

I'm thinking I cut it too much. My nutsack and arms feel better but my legs still itch something fierce. They're pretty bad though. I don't think I had enough clorox. Just what was left from disinfecting the last trays. Would making a paste from a chlorine tablet have the same effect? Your directions were very thorough. My ability to follow directions while high is somewhat suspect though.

Not sure about the chlorine tablet (is it cyanuric chloride, or old-fashioned calcium hypochlorite?) I worry that the cyanuric acid byproduct from the chlorine tab might not be very kind to ulcerated skin.
Get thee a small bottle of pure, unscented bleach ... you'll want it around. I'd apply in manageable patches/areas and rinse each before treating the next. cn

<add> I'm touched by the last sentence.

i know a few people who swear by a paste of baking soda and vinegar. i wouldn't know if it works because i've never had poison ivy. i'm guessing i may be immune but i never really tested this. my mother is immune so i have high hopes.
