Alot of internet rambo's on here that I bet have never been in a dangerous situation in their lives, for those that have should know!!! the way you respond to such a situation isn't through evaluation or careful consideration, it's all adrenalin and/or instinct that takes over any thoughts you may have will usually be after thoughts as events usually unfold very quickly and the following responses do as well.
yes I agree she should have phoned the police, so should her friends, the ones laughing about the situation are scum and deserve to be treated as so.
But for URCA being guilty or a bad person I don't believe it to be the case she's a young girl that doesn't know how to handle certain situations, she isn't the only one or the world we live in would be a lot less fucked up.
there's a reason the police/soldiers and other emergency workers behave the way they do under dangerous and stressful circumstances, it's because they have been trained for it and have adjusted mentally to the situations they have and may be put in.
A stoned URCA hasn't been trained and was probably in shock and relying on pack mentality to take control of the situation she was put in.
If it was a group of men close by and they did nothing I could understand the hate but a young girl scared in a scary situation?
for us men it's easy to play the big man game because we are men, the arsehole hitting that poor woman wouldn't have been a big threat to us but to others that simply isn't the case, especially a young stoned up girl that isn't used to being put into a situation like this, she was obviously expecting the men there to step up and they didn't!!! things happen and end just as fast as they begun sometimes and unless you react straight away it's too late.

if she lives in an area where if she did anything someone would shoot her, shes prolly seen worse then this. lack of judgement on area/friends/how to react, now that phones are only a reach away theres no excuse

Yeah...the only way is for a larger stronger fellow to come along and kick the shit out of that douchebag and tell that poor girl she could do so much better...
Jailhouse rules sort of apply in domestic violence situations, as in she is that guy's bitch, but if someone beats him up she is likely to follow the new aggressor.
My ex husband's brother used to beat his girlfriend...He also would prostitute her and any other girl he could talk into it...but after he took her to a job and then got her back home he would get all pissed off...The night we witnessed the beating he was yelling about her sleeping with other men and she asked him why he had her do it then if it made him so mad...? He said cuz they needed money and she told him to get a goddamn job...then we start hearing a lot of thumping and yelling, and me and my ex are laying there, like should we go do something or just leave, but then the girl screamed for my ex and I told him to go and beat his brother, and then try to convince that girl to follow us when we leave and never ever come back...
So my ex subdued his brother, and I tried explaining to this girl that she didn't have to take it...but she wouldn't leave...so eff it...we left her there to keep being a whore and punching bag and that was that...I think later my ex started talking to his brother again...but it was the first pimp I met and he was just as unimpressive as I had always imagined...

yeah but at least you did something about the issue.. when you did it you did the right thing, gave her a chance to do something better and she just fucked it all up, at least you tried

But in your situation I probably would have called the police, just for the baby...because if the cops come for domestic violence and there is a child they will very often take the child til the woman agrees to leave the guy...so at least the baby would be alright...unless it doesn't get a family fast and has to stay in the system...If that child is a girl she will grow up thinking it is alright to get beat, and if it is a boy then it will grow up thinking it is alright to beat women, because they are less than human and deserving of such treatment...
All in all it is a shitty situation...
The only way to stop this is to lock up the guy and take the girl far enough away that she can't get back...even if she wants to...but then again the next guy said girl gets with is very likely to be cut of the same cloth as the first...so whatever, there is no hope of anything anywhere at anytime...
I just feel like early on all it takes is someone stepping in and a smart chick will kick the guy while he is down and move on, but it rarely happens that way.

I never stayed up late nights thinking about it...I mean someone offers to help you and you say no, you want to stay with the pimp that beats you, well alright, don't call my phone and I won't call yours.

Not every boy that grows up around domestic violence perpetuates it as a grown man. I have very strong feelings about this. I believe it was a part of my aggression as a young man but that aggresion was never turned towards a women. Even after getting a bottle smashed on my head by a woman I stepped in for.

i would have called the cops but that shit doesnt fly around here. it would have been very bad if i had called the cops. and plus even if i did call the cops they cant do anything unless she goes with it.
If that's the case, you are hanging around with the wrong kind of people, the kind that laugh at a woman being beaten? When you surround yourself with a certain kind of people, you end up becoming like them.

I would have come absolutely unglued. You would not have been able to keep me on the porch to watch that. OMG! Just omg. If he'd gotten mad and hit me, well good, because i'd testify against his ass a hell of a lot quicker than she would. And fuck your friend for not doing anything. And for laughing, tell him I hope someone treats his mother or his sister or his daughter like that someday, see if he laughs about that.
DITTO my feelings exactly!
Your "friend" should get electrodes connected to his balls and then current applied. What an ass.
Many years ago, I lived in a 2-flat as a tenant. I was on the first floor, owner on the second. Her son lived in the basement and he used to beat his wife all the time. We'd be sitting and smoking and hear him and the "hit" on her flesh and cringe. Needless to say, this quickly took our collective buzz away. Finally we called the cops and did stay ANONYMOUS (very important) because the guy was really large, like 300# and < 6 ft' tall. Oh yea, he was also real stupid, a dumb ass true to the definition of what a dumb ass is. Poor woman was like 85# and 5'5". Man, that stuff pisses me off. Big, bad-ass man slamming a helpless woman. I also had a buddy that beat his wife and everyone knew it. Finally, myself and 2 other guys went over there, confronted him and proceeded to explain to him that if he ever hit her again, we'd be over in a flash and kick his ass big time. He never hit her again and she got the courage to divorce his ass. There sure is strength in numbers!

this is whats wrong with you
youre still in that highschool mentality that "people who call police are snitches"
this is a serious offense she could've been killed. i hope your conscious eats at you forever for this , people like you who think this way is totally wrong an unreleasable, while i do agree not to call cops over shit like pot, its horrible when people can think that you should never call the pigs for assistance,
you should in many cases call police...
a women getting the shit kicked out of her is one.
glad you watched in amusement if there is ahell youre going to it for this.
