I lived in Racine, Wisconsin for a few months a long time ago. I was about 18 and on my own. I lived in a VERY bad neighborhood. My downstairs neighbors were always fighting. One night I heard a lot of crashing down there and her screaming and I called the police. The second the cops left, he came upstairs and beat the shit out of my door. I didn't open it, so he started screaming all kinds of names at me, saying he knows it was me (there were only 4 apartments per building and the other two were vacant), and that he was gonna "fuck me up". I was terrified. 2 weeks later, I heard her screaming and this time I for sure heard him hit her, and guess what? I called the cops again. They took the kids (2 small boys) out of the home THAT DAY, she went to the hospital, and he went to jail. If she wants to stay and get beaten, fine, but i'm not going to just sit upstairs and do nothing about it, no matter how much he threatened me.
