Latest Update so far:
Couldn't afford the LED... next grow! providing I don't have any stupid expensive bills in the meantime .
In the stead of the LED I went and got me a cool tube and some acoustic ducting, retrofitted my new cab with the 250w HPS might try a 400w at some point in the future, definately got the cooling power for it, just need a ballast
As for strains I'm running 2 Berry Bomb's in DWC with maybe a Critical Jack Herer as it was a free seed, we'll see.

Good job m8.Wish id caught it from start.You have given me some things to think about tho.I use 2l bottles sometimes,like playing and making stuff as i see you do too.Did a 2l lollipop with 18 plants in FFOF,and Bigbloom, Gravity from Humbolt that stuff is awesome will make you buds rock hard and really dense.Very easy tho to get phos,toxity by doing bottle instructions had to cut dose in half.Subbed plus rep.

Yeah I love playing around with new ideas, I think I changed my hydro setup (that I'm currently using) about 3 or 4 times before I actually committed lol. I'm just having trouble getting the air pumps in DWC to be quiet... it just doesn't seem possible.
For this grow I'm using an Advanced Nutrients line with Jungle Juice ('cause it is so cheap and a good base) Big Bud (powder) and Overdrive (eventually when I buy some) a good base with a mid booster and a late use booster, just need a week 1-3 booster and it'll be perfect
I've tried 2 litre bottles and didn't get along with them, for large plants they don't hold enough water and for small plants you just need too many of them to get the yields I'd get off of 1 big ScrOG'd plant. But that's just my preference.
To Elliesdaddy (as per your request lol) and Jason if your still here, I'll have some pics once they have been topped and hit the screen, going for a 4-8 week veg on these to really fill out that large screen I have! See how it goes.

18zips from my lolipop,under 1k light about 18inches from the canopy.Buds were bigger than bottle,had em in tuperware box cause 18 fit good and tight.Gravity is for last 3 weeks,and works GREAT to add density and weight.When cured could drop on cardboad and they would bouce off.

Cool I've only got a 250w HPS just having lots of plants in an un-automated system was what made it difficult for me when I tried, and different strains, big bud does the same, got some wicked buds out of using it! When I have some more money I'll play around with other nutes but for now, gotta stick with what I got.

Keeping the air pump quiet is easy
Buy some foam that neil on in the garden
From a pound shop or diy shop
and cut it up, a little under the air pump and some under the tank
and it Should stop most the noise

Thanks Jason, though I have them all on raised cushioned platforms, fixed it by removing 1 pump (had 2, 1 for each bucket) but 1 is working magic!
I'll post pics soon I'm sure, just started a new job and have been mega busy. The Sweet Deep Grapefruit in the garden had to be deconstructed into 12 clones more for stealth as she was getting huge and smelling up the place (only live in a small block so was a big issue) I'll be keeping 1-5 of these putting them into 2 litre hempy pots and flowering them straight out once they root.
The girls in the cupboard are now on 12/12 after about 8 weeks veg, 1 plant has filled the screen in itself about 60% and the other is a bit of a runt so hasn't filled out at all really. Thinking of reducing my op to 1 mecha plant and making a 1 bucket DWC system with a bigger res than what I have, should make for easier transport and the like.
Other than that all is going very well! first time DWC, I think it will be every time DWC from now on! really good method!
OH and I'll be getting a decent powered LED when I get paid XD

Just had 5 mins to snap a few snappy snaps XD probably the last ones 'til near harvest... Too busy with work!
DWC, 250w HPS, 90w LED, 45w Fluoro Tube (under the canopy) Looking good I think, if I do say so myself XD
This is week 1.5 of flower and still stretching, 5 or 6 weeks veg, something like that anyway, I reckon the yield will be good off of this one.

wow nice grow if that is week 1.5 of flowering and its still stretching i can not wait to see what that turns out to be after you yield it should be really good! i say over 2oz easy. You should try blue dream i have heard many good things about that strain and i can't wait to try it out myself.

Thanks for stopping in guys! I have read a lot of good things about blue dream! I have a few more grows worth of seeds to get through first, Critical Jack Herer, Pineapple Express and 3 Berry Bombs left lol.

I usually yield about 2-3 oz a plant so hopefully this'll be more like a 5-8 ounce grow, just trying to dial in that 1gpw senario, and I'm getting close'ish XD

Well 3 actual weeks (not just a guess XD) into flower and my canopy has properly shot up... I really underestimated both the growth potential of DWC and how much stretch this strain does in the 1st few weeks, luckily they have started to crown off just under the lights (within an inch or so mostly). Basically it turned out that the one plant on the right could have easily filled the screen on its own by now and the canopy would be way more even!
They are drinking about a res (12l) of water every 5 days, so I am topping up with 6+ litres of water every 2-3 days. PH levels are perfect, haven't had to adjust much at all really only a few times at the start of flower and it has stayed constant just topping up with nutes and water. They are on about double strength feed and I'm adding AN Big Bud as of this week, no deficiencies or burning so overall (not to jinx it) I'd say this has been a rather successful 1st attempt at DWC aside from the slight overgrowth
I have completely forgotten about my 12 clones in the garden and they have just started sexing so I need to get them to another grow room so they don't die over the winter as our nights are getting very chilly now!
Next grow I'll be running just one Berry bomb in a larger res DWC bucket with 2 x 2 litre hempy pots either side containing my free Pineapple Express and Critical Jack Herer seeds (I'll put these in later so they flower out as single cola plants...
I may also have to use the 250w HPS for another grow as I don't think I'll have the funds initially to upgrade the the LED I want, so I figure hey if it's working for now why not wait 'til I can afford a bigger LED grow light than I first planned lol!

I don't know about 5oz this time, I've just been informed that the boiler guy is booked to come on the 10th of October and it absolutely stinks during day time hours so out of paranoia and the risk of getting caught again I am going to have to chop a week or 2 early (better safe than sorry imo), I was planning on taking them out and putting them in the boot of my car for a day but they are way too entangled in the screen for that. :/ On the plus, it gives me time to re-do my setup a little bit.
Upgrades, I did my finances and worked out a plan that will allow me to buy the 470w LED panel I want (a whopping £500 but it is an awesome one, that'll pay for itself in 1 grow) I will also be removing my huge RUCK extractor as it's way too noisy (neighbors have been wondering what the noise is, I lolled when they accused the guy upstairs of being on an exercise bike at midnight) I'll be replacing it with a stupid high power muffin fan as my space at the moment doesn't require a lot of extraction, so I can leave the fan/carbon filter running 24/7 which is a massive plus for me, it would mean I can have my grow box running with no smell and in near silence (just put my PC on to mask the slight whir of the pump and fans) even when the gas service comes round or anyone else for that matter.
The final part of my plan involves getting a 22+ litre res bucket and kitting it out into a DWC for 1 plant, so I can just do 1 massive grow at a time and touch wood hit the 1gpw + mark, and with 590 watts of LED and fluoro that would be immense from my area, seeing as I haven't been far off of this mark in the past I think I can reach that goal in a grow or 2.
Overall I'm not happy with the situation but I do love a good thorough upgrade
