Newbie here in Gilbert Arizona looking for advice, information, conversation-Single dad of 11y/o son-coach his basketball ball team

Growing conditions-4x3x7 1/2 Panda film coated walls-1000w HPS- Temp is from 82/low-92/high. Humidity from 30% to 40% ish. Clones are still in dixie cups and was told to leave them in cups for at least a week. Dont know what kind of soil they came in and are still in-not sure how old the clones were when I got them Friday.

When i transplant I will be using 5 gallon pots for each one with M3 Michigan made Mix. I was told I wouldnt need nutrients with this soil .I also have Papa's Perfect Poop for flowering. I am using R/O water for watering and misting

I have EXHALE Home grown Co2 about 1/2 foot above plant level on an overturned 5 gallon pot
I have a fan blowing across plants at plant level. should I have the fan blowing across the exhale and into the plants?
I have a 6" 250cfm inline fan pulling air out directly at end of HPS bulband ducting it up into the attic. No fan on the intake end, it is ducted straight into the ac vent so I can keep A/C around 75 degrees which translates to about 80 degrees in grow room under hot lights. . My intake is at bottom
Hey guys-NEWBIE GROWER here- First grow and clones came home on Friday
2 Deep Purple
2 Blue Widow
2 Super Silver Haze

when I picked them up the 2 Blue widows had a few yellowing areas. One of them is completely limp, slightly curved stem as well. This is the one I'm concerned about.

Super Silver Haze look best-healthy- a little burning of just the tips of leaves-I moved my 1000 light to about5 ft from plants

First day I had trouble keeping temp below 85 degrees-and humidity above 25%. Lights were about4 feet from plants and I moved it up and now temp is stabilized and humidity has come up a bit. Is my temperature and humidity at good levels?

Ive been spraying R/o water mist into room to bring up humidity, which it does temporarily. Could too much misting lead to over-watering?

Any advice/tips will be appreciated. I know I included alot of info, but that is what you need to know to help me right?

If you need any more info about my grow conditions or anything please get back. i will check every day

I wish everyone who had questions would put them this way. Seems like you have your head on the right way with everything, a very nice setup also.

Temps are a little on the high side, I didn't see anything regarding a cooltube for your light which will help you out. Humidity is low for veg, watch out for that with new clones especially. A humidifier or maybe even a bowl or two of water by your intake can help you with that.

Thank you so much for responding. I just joined this site a couple hours ago and already a few responses. That is what I was hoping for and may need as my 1st grow progresses. here are some pics I took of my room construcion and the pics I took today of plants today. I did put the bowl of water in front of my intake airstream as soon as I read your advice. Seems like your team name with your city listed might not be a good idea. Otherwise nice start!

Thanks for the input. I wish I knew. What did you think of the small wilted Blue Widow? What can cause such wilted and limp leaves? I'm firing up a fatty of HEADBAND right now, to improve the quality of my life. Here's toking to you all. PEACE

Hey the caregiver I got the clones from said light should be 24 hours a day until flowering. Is that the standard or should I go 18light 6dark or 16 light 8dark? Remember I just got them on Friday. Some yellowing and drying on very tips of leaves. Even the new little nodes are drying out.

Lol I just saw that add on CL, and was considering getting a deep purple and blue widow. Sounds like some shotty propagation though.

are your clones in rock wool cubes inside the soil? I got some from a guy here in town that were, and they weren't really ready for soil yet. If they are in cubes in the soil and the roots haven't started to penetrate you could be in a delicate stage far as water amounts go. You want the cube wet enough but not so wet that the surrounding soil is water logged. If you have a dome, cap them to keep that humidity and moisture level on the top of the soil right along with the bottom.

Also are u ph and tds testing your Water? They are pretty sensitive at that age. Good luck mr. bottwin

PS check my journal to see what your neighbor is doing. .

actually they are in plugs and I was thinking maybe samething as far as roots not ready. The clones were not 2 weeks old I'd say, when I got them, What distance should the light be from the top of plants. I have 1000w HPS in 4ftx3 1/2ftx7 1/2ft. Hot air being vented directly from end of Bulb. Avg temps so far 81-88degrees. Humidity averaging 27-25%. They said they were gonna replace the wilted BLUE WIDOW. sweet

Respectfully did you read much literature before getting started? I only say as it helped me. A lot. I would use floros or MH for veg, not hps. Different light spectrum just to name one reason. That said ... As far away as you can that's hot and heavy for young pups like that. Just a suggestion, if you want to do the plants justice, grab a book (mmj bible isn't a bad start) read it, like 12 times. Then adjust our approach. Then read your book again, and spend sometime while the family sleeps combing this site for DIY, and trouble shooting.

This is my first grow and you can see where I'm at via the link under my signature. RIU has most the answers already there in the boards.

Cause.... :) your temps are high (I know its hot in the valley right now), humidity low, light spectrum is wrong... Not trying to hate just help. I know it's a lot. To lern at once.

Hey thanks for your input over the past few days. I'm now using a 400w MH for veg. I also have ducting directly from my A/C vent right onto the light bulb, cooling it down. My average temps are now averaging in the 70's and humidity is up to 45%. At least its an improvement. Definitely thanks for heads up on lights. Jorge Cervantes recommended a 600w HPS so I went big and got a 1000HPS. At least I have that HPS for flowering it. You mind if I hit you up with miscelaneous, first-time grower, questions? Your pics are amazing. I'm using dirt. What are some advantages of Hydroponics? I understand its much more expensive . Any way thanks.
