the History Channel "drugs Inc."

I caught a bit of the series "drugs inc" last night. I had seen this episode before but wanted to verify exactly what I saw.

This was about "designer drugs".

It showed a group of police invading a shop that sold entirely legal chemicals that are labeled not for human consumption.

I was outraged by their behavior and also by the behavior of those the police harrassed.

They detained customers, frisked them, searched their parked and vacant cars. they Questioned the proprietor and finally confiscated all of his merchandise, claiming that each packet had to be tested for illegal substances.

There was nothing illegal about anyone's actions except for one person who the police claimed was publicly intoxicated.

Not a single person excercised their rights either to walk away, to demand the police follow the law and to demand that the police show a search warrant if they intended to confiscate the wares.

The arresting officer claimed that "these people" (meaning the manufacturers) kept coming up with new ways to skirt the law and so they had to come up with new ways to stop them. His "new way" was to simply ignore the Constitution of the United States because that is best for his little community.

.
If you were to do the things you mentioned- Excercise your rights, there is a good chance they would murder you on the spot and then go on a paid vacation, many people believe their rights are not worth losing their lives over.

Although I know for a fact that police have murdered (the illegal taking of a human life), I do not figure it happens with the sort of regularity you contend. some of us however do believe that our rights are worth losing our lives over. I assure you that I would have acted far differently had I been in that situation, especially knowing that History cameras were rolling.

Wow, kind of like the way the left and our government keeps coming up with new ways to skirt the right for Americans to bear arms!

Wrong
What happens is
-first they try to intimidate you
-then they try to reason with you
and then if they cannot find some loophole to get what they want
-they violate your rights anyways

Dont want your car searched?
They will have it towed for one reason or other
Since they are towing it
They have the right to inventory it's contents

Ever wonder why a cop will follow you for a distance before they pull you over?
Well they are running your plates
then your arrest record
and sometimes
They are even looking for a no parking zone to get you to pull over to

It discust me to see how the police and the government can do such things, I'm sure it happens often, it irks me, it pisses me off, it makes me mad and want to do something abt it. but alas they have the upper hand and just see what would happen if you tried to use your given rights. They'd find something to arest you even if it was a miner offence. I just have to stay clear of such things otherwise I'd been locked up long ago.

When people don't excercise their rights because they are sure that they will be abused, those rights fade away. If we all are willing to take some risk when we are sure we are in the right, things tend to get better.

I got arrested in a parking lot for trespassing
it got thrown out in court
But that wasnt the point
The point was to get access to my vehicle for a search I didnt consent to
They didnt find anything
When they inventoried my car

I got my car searched another time
When the cop asked me to step out of the vehicle
She held the door open
When i tried to close it
She claimed I was assaulting her and was going to taze me (her and her partner)
They tossed my car and didnt find anything
But that was another search i didnt consent to
SInce i had left the door open
They didnt need consent
And they never asked for it either

Unless you got a camera rolling
Your rights dont mean shit unless the cop tells the truth or fucks up his story in court

Yet, you think everyone will just readily hand over their guns when told to do so.

Sure, I'd like to see you stand for your rights and see how far you get. Those vids show you how your right protect you. it's a bunch of crap and those vids prove it.

If you have a camera it is a whole different world

No wonder why they are now passing laws making it illegal to film police officers
Check out this guy he has a gun and a camera

Here is the difference, I am a very tall white guy who knows his rights,, is prominant in his community, has a few bucks and is unintimidated by the police. If anyone can (and should) stand up for their rights is is someone like me.

As for searching the vehicle, keep all unmentionables in a zipped backpack or bag. When they "inventory" your vehicle in the process of towing, they can't go into those closed bags. They can only note them, any identifying characteristics, and weigh them. They can't go into them without a warrant.

This little tidbit saved my ass one time. They found my smoke, smoking paraphenalia, and a loaded concealed firearm. ALL of which was dismissed as evidence due to an illegal search :)

They will, I don't see what your embolded comment has to do with that.
Because a lot of people with guns think that the right to keep their guns is worth losing their life over. You're the one who stated that some of us think our rights are worth losing our lives for.
How can you pick and choose what rights you think people are willing to die for?
