General Hydroponics - (FloraNova Line) Review Request

I am searching for a more simplified nute line up than one, BC Technaflora, i am currently using.

My current line uses 6+ individual ingredients at different and varying amounts.

BC GROW
BC BOOST
BC BLOOM
BC SUGERDADDY
AWSOME BLOSSOM
MAGI-CAL
B1-RED
B1-GREEN (NOT REALLY NECESSARY)

This poses 2 main issues for me for future use.

1, it requires constant attention to remaining nutes, as you must monitor 8 different bottles to be sure you never drop below the needed amount of any 1 ingredient. It also seems that a number of the ingredients have reduced shelf life after opening making it less possible to buy in bulk to limit the need for constant visits to the hydro shop 25 mins away.

2, I plan to set up an automated system soon and the logistics of monitoring and mixing 6 or more ingredients at different and varying ratios mechanically is unnerving and expensive.

and from my experience each of these parts are necessary, having clear negative effects when not present. It is self adjusting ph so i rarely need to use ph up or down.

The nutrient line i am most keen on at the moment is General Hydroponics - FloraNova Line <http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/products/nutrients/nova_series/>

It claims to be a 1 part system with a 1 part vegetation formula and also a 1 part flower formula which would be amazing for my purposes. Prices also seem reasonable especially considering that you are only buying 2 bottles instead of 7. But i hesitate as i have come to expect, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

General Hydroponics also offers:

FloraDuo <http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/products/nutrients/floraduo/> - a 2 part system designed for fast growing plants. (not sure exactly what that means) however a 2 part system would also be highly manageable for my automated system.

Flora Series <http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/products/nutrients/flora_series/> - which is a 3 part system but looks very similar to the base mix of my current nutes which makes me wonder weather or not all the extra additives will be needed as they are in my current mix.

I am reading more about each currently but any reviews, help, tips, suggestions or input on the subject will be appreciated, Thanks

Can't say enough good things about FloraNova. Great Product. Use as directed.
Thanks for the reply!

Many more like this and I will be convinced! =)

I already think i am going to pick some up and run it one plant to get some first hand experience before i try to switch totally over.

Every nute company has a bunch of additives and shit you can buy; even miracle grow. I use FloraNova grow, aquashield, and a couple drops of superthrive for veg and it works fine. Haven't tried it for flower.

I see; as indicated in my first post, with my current nute line it seems nearly all of the parts are required, this had led me to believe they would function similarly with the others.

i am unfamiliar with aquashield but will look into it.

How would you consider your results in veg using your mix, relative to what you see from growers on this site. Disregard clearly inexperienced growers in your assessment if you can. And if time permits i would also be interested in your experiences, and overall analysis of the ease of use of the mix, as in ph fluctuation, sediment collection, concentration level maintenance (how well does the res maintain concentration as the solution is absorbed, of import between RDWC and W2W systems), foreign substance growth (algae, root rot, ect.), and overall root development rate and condition.

Aquashield is just beneficial microbes that eat stuff in the res water to keep harmful microbes out of the water and off your roots... it's not part of the nute lineup or anything. FloraNova stains the roots brown, but eh... I haven't really tried any other nutes, but I just use FloraNova grow with no other additives (besides already mentioned) and it's easy as can be. I'm a new grower myself (well... new to doing it right) and I have no problems with ph or ppm so far in 2 gallon buckets. I'd say my veg growth is average compared to other growers. I'll throw down some pics later.

I haven't used them for flower... I used to use lolmiracle gro for flower, but I say give them a shot if you want a simple nute setup. Works like a boss for veg... but then again so does MG.

As a stand alone it works ok! Just make sure you shake the piss out of it before use! Stuff is surup ans messy as fuck.

I use supernatural brand gro aqua for veg/bloom aqua for flower additives being supernatural ultimate thrive & some cal mag. Works for me it's simple but isn't cheap. Also leaching weekly is recommended & i use there lineup of super leach.

So far so good with GH FluoroNova line. Just started using them about a month or two ago. The babies seem to really like it. Stick to the recommended dosage and you should be fine. And shake the hell out of the bottles before using!

I use GH 3 part with 4 additives and get great results. I also got good results with just the 3 part. The additives give my plants that little extra oomph that I prefer.

I wasn't a fan of Flora Nova. It just didn't work as well for me as the three part.

i have used the 3 part flora series and the nova series i got great results with both but really you cant beat the flora nova series for simplicity. one bottle for veg one bottle for flower. and for that matter i know a bunch of people just use the one bottle of bloom all the way through. i have seen grows using no additives that turned out great too. personally i make a bennie tea and add floralicious plus to that and thats all the additves i use. oh and some koolbloom in flower.
