I timmed my plants once can they turned into males. Timming forces male polen production. lol

Seriously, the way I trim my plants is simple, if the leaves look bad they go period. This happens once they start to flower it is important to cut the stem close to the leaf let the stem die on its own and fall off. Dont cut it by the stalk.

Advice to newbies reading this - let the frigging leaves fall off. If you MUST trim, then satisfy that urge by finding a hedge outside. The plant makes the leaves and keeps the leaves for purposes of life. When the plant no longer needs a leaf it will let it go.

I have a plant that a light mishap removed just a few fan leaves when it fell. On one side. I will take pics later, as well as when I harvest it, that graphically shows tiny ass buds on that side compared to big ones on the unaffected side.

Been smoking and growing since 1964 but what do Cervantes and I know?

In certain kinds of grows it is a good idea to trim off the bottom 2 or 3 nodes after vegging a few weeks.
I do that to encourage the plant to grow taller when side space is at a premium. Never do any kind of
pre-harvest trimming if you plan to re-grow. That's when you want a bunch of little green fuzzies.

Also, some varieties will increase yield if you judiciously trim off a few bottom nodes. For beginners I echo
hotrodharley -- " let the frigging leaves fall off." The benefits of early trimming are not worth the potential
problems for a beginner.
