Okay ive got a 25CF grow space im working with and a lot of bends, think cool tube and NGB style cab so three separate areas. I want silence and the only thing more important than silence to me is odor control. The S&P silent series fan with the 5" flange seemed pretty sweet so i jumped on it. Its rated roughly 150 CFM on low and 200 CFM on high. Now i know its not a blower so it wont handle pressure as well but if i paired it with a 4"x12" phresh filter (rated 200 CFM) at the exhaust would i be good on both smell and sound you think? or should i have gone for a centrifugal fan? (loud as hell) any advice is appreciated! Oh yea the light is a 250w HPS in a 6" cool tube
Just ordered a S&P TD-100xs (silent series) is the Phresh 4"x12" an ideal match?

Anyone out there using a T&D Silent series fan?? I also want to order one to make a scrubber to get rid of smell inside a grow room. I wanted to make it into a combo (fan/filter) and wanted to buy one of the Phresh filters. But I wasn't sure what phresh filter would connect directly to the fan to make an in-room scrubber? The normal one? The intake one? The inline one? Can the filter connect right into one of these S&P TD Silent fans? I'm considering the 100S one as well and connect it to a 4x8 or 4x12 phresh filter just wanted to confirm if they can connect directly to each other and if anyone's using this combination?nobody? i halted the order for my fan, Compared to a vortex fan of the same size these fans have minimal static pressurenow considering going to the 6" or 8" S&P or maybe itll be quieter just to go elicent

I have a td160/100 (rated at 180 m3/h) or about 100 CFM hooked up to a can-lite 150pl which is similar to those phresh 200s. It is working well for me so far, and silent. You would use the normal phresh filter, not the inline because you are sucking air through the filter like this..
Filter > very short ducting > TD-fan > short ducting to exhaust.
If you are concerned and really think it is necessary, bump up the size of the TD fan and phresh filter to the next matching ones up. Look at the TD Mixvent line, the connections are smaller and match the phresh. Mine is 4 inch, the next one up the TD-250 is also 4 inch. The next one is the TD 350 which is 5 inch. I think the XS versions are much larger connections which is why one might be seeing 6 inch + 8 inch. The phresh 200 is a 4 inch connection, you will have an easier time staying in the 4 or 5 inch range because filters with 6 inch or 8 inch connections are already massive. Not what you guys are looking for. If you have a size mismatch, use a duct connector, 4 to 5 inch, 5-6 inch etc.

Hi Jack, probably could, but for me the main priority was silence. The vibrations from fans are stronger when the plastic fan ducts are connected directly to lights or metal filter connections making more noise. A few very short inches of straight flexible duct in between makes things quieter and will not affect air performance, also gives a little flex between the fan and filter instead of having a 16-17 inch long solid piece of equipment. It's personal preference, you could probably hook them up directly. <- (edit) directly with a duct connector I should have said, since both are 4 inch pieces, it might be hard to jam one into the other. 4 inch duct slides over both pieces, even if it is around 3-5 inches long.
