Hi people
Just a question if anyone can shed some light, I am using a basic bubble system with a 50l bin supporting 6 plants using a twin output air pump.
I am also putting CO2 into the room via yeast and sugar mix in milk bottles around the room. I am wondering if the CO2 could cause problems by being pumped into the res around the roots by the air pump? I have read that CO2 can suffocate roots etc. I have used the system before with no issues but this time round i have had issues with the dreaded snotty algae crap. I seem to have got rid of the algae but the plants are not growing much and are droopy and yellow even though the roots are white and growing fast. ppm is ok and ph is going up fast but im keeping it down best i can. Could the CO2 be stopping the roots from taking nutrients causing slow top growth? I have other plants in soil which are flourishing so external environment is fine.....
