co2 setup, temps an time

Ok so i finally have my room setup an running at 74* i can raise it if i want/need but there isnt plants in it yet for flowering an was told plants will raise the temps.

My setup is a 8x4 flower tent with 3 1kw lights (all connected with tubes for cooling), a 12 pot ebb n flow 55gal system, room has ac and an exaust fan and 2 smaller fans to just rotate air.

Objective is to yeild highest i can with "pineapple express". While setting my tent up i went through aton of issues for cooling ect but now its all running perfect. Onto the questions:

If i add a co2 setup would i be a bad thing to only add it to flowering?
If i add co2 setup would it really help me yeild atleast 20% more like everyone says?

When using the co2 i would have the exaust fans off for an 1.5hr using a timer, and have a timer on the co2 to release co2 when fans shut off for an hours time and then shut off with the system having an extra 30min of no exaust fans so plants can use rest of the co2 in room.

Can anyone help me do the math on how much co2 to release and at what rate for the hours time in a 8x4x8 room?
Finally, is it neccesary to have the exaust fans off for that extra 30min or do the plants use the co2 immedietly?
If they do not use all the co2 immedietly should i leave the exhaust fans off for longer than an extra 30min?

Thanks for the help! I start to veg my plants today and want to buy whats needed for co2 setup an have it set accordingly to use in couple months. Also, i read its best to fill air to 1500ppm with co2. So ill need to add 1200ppm since air carries 300ppm i guess.

I purchased the titan atlas 1 controller so I dont have to worry about CO2 levels and what not. I have read its challenging to get the PPM right and usually end up going too high or too little but Im sure it can be done if you just pay attention and tweak a lil here and there. I've read both sides... only use in veg... use in both. Some people who've used it in veg say they see huge growth within the first 24hrs of using it. I have no idea on how quickly theyll use up the CO2 so someone else will have to jump in. I would think youd want the fans off as long as possible without causing heating issues so the plants can use up as much as possible before you start sucking it out. Im going to finish up my room tonight... get a full night of temp readings and then plan on turning on the CO2 tomorrow so I can give you a little more info once I get to that step

I only run co2 during flower. You can run it in veg and yes it helps but not too much of a significant difference to make me run co2 for 18 hours a day lights on during veg. If you cant afford a controller then good luck doing the math. Here's a link to give you an idea of how to calculate how long you need to run your co2. Oh yeah if you are running a portable single hose AC unit then forget about using co2, those AC's just suck out all your co2.

I have controller for exhaust fans and co2 an humidity but idk how the hell it works... i set the exaust fans to 80* so they turn on when temps are 80 and they wouldnt turn on an it was 84* until i moved the knob to 70 so of course they never shut off. Confused crap out of me so im just going to do fans an co2 on a timer to turn on an off for x amount of time.

Wow that link worked excellent. Ill turn it on for 19min, every 3hrs... if some leaks out then oh well. Ill tape every hole and the ac doesnt suck out. Constantly blows. With fans off the ac will be on. It wont ever go below the 300ppm that the air has so more wont hurt. And the setting with meter will make it not go over.

19min x 4 times a day = 86min of use a day.

20gal tank is good for 175hrs

175hrs / 1.5hrs a day = 116 days of use.

31 days in month

166 day / 31 day = 5.3 months of use before a refill!!!

Seems worthwhile lol. Just gotta get something to regulate it to 1cfm for 19min

Still gonna suck out your co2 with a portable AC so your plants wont be getting any co2 with the lights on.. The portable AC's use the air in the room

My ac isnt inside the room. Is commerial size ac inside my garage and i run a tube off the huge opening into the tent.

wow man this setup is super overkill, im not trying to knock it at all but dude ditch a light and you wont even miss it and ether will your plants lol, i run a 4x8 built and sealed room with only 2 1ks dimmed to 75% and am almost hitting 1gpw with average yielding strain and no co2 yet, i harvest 6 every 4 weeks and am actually going to run a whole 12 with a 1ton mini split ac and co2 generator. shit 2 600w's in that space with co2 and you would be fine. i also run a 12 site ebb and grow and can say you couldnt even fit 12 big enough plants in that space to justify that kinda wattage your just wasting energy and creating a shit load of heat.

when using a timer set it at the highest flow rating, i saw someone say 19 min that is way to long you will freeze and shatter you regulator under 10min ALWAYS.

broken reg and CO2 shooting out is uh, pretty scarey for lack of a better word.

your yield would not suffer at all, 2 1k's in that space is 62.5 watts per square foot that is plenty of watts for that space. i have not run a full 12 yet but if i grew everything the same as usual just ran 12 for 60 days i would certainly get 42 oz's out of it. my average is 3.5 a plant only vegged for 4 weeks with a ending height of 24" with the new room built i gained 1.5' of vertical space so im going to be vegging much longer so yield should increase right there. here is a few pics of 6 in my 4x8 tent.

I agree with this post because I found myself setting my two 1000W dimmed down to 75% in my sealed room.

yup and when the co2 and ac are in there i may run them at 100% and then 60% and see if it makes a huge difference. i dont like dimming the bulbs down but im sure not going to buy 600w ballast for it when i already have 1k's.

as far as more light=more yield, there is a limit to that as with anything in this. your sitting at about 94 watts per square foot, low watts per square foot for growing is 30w mid is 50w and high is 50-80w so you can see where the word overkill fits in there with just 2 1k's in there its 62.5 watts per square foot so sitting nice in that high range with just the 2 the other light is just going to cost you more money in elec and cooling costs. i doubt your yield will increase enough to justify the third light, and yes im definetly telling you 12 plants small enough to fit in that space in no way need 3 1k's most height you can get out of them is going to be around 3.5-4' and that will even be pushing and crowded for the 12.

Hmmm, mabe i should take out the one light that has special bulb. Its blue light an supposed to be good for veg and flower.

In my veg tent i have 1 t5 and about to buy another one for 12 veg and a cloner. Mabe i throw the 1kw in veg and use my t5 for cloner? 1kw should do 12pots right? Tents 6x6 so having 12veg on one half with 1kw an t5 ontop of cloner should be good im think but again im the noob here. I had no idea there was a "max" light the plants used.
