i know i found out yesterday that i should shake excess water off before putting clones in them which ive done to the new clones ive takenThose cubes look way too wet man ......
Might be a silly question but if they are in a humidity dome why is there no condensation on the walls? Maybe you wiped it down so we could see them idk for sure but I know clones need humidity. Second do you have any kind of heating pad under the tray to warm the cubes up? Clones root better when the medium is warm, what is the room temp for that matter and do you have a something to measure the temp and humidity inside the dome? You got to remember those little babies don't have no roots at all, the only water they get is what they can get through their leaves, they need high humidity and warmth the first couple of days fo sho! If all those conditions are met then just relax and don't worry. I was so worried my first time cloning that I didn't hardly sleep until they had finally rooted, that has been a little while ago now and I still find that as long as I have a warm humid place for my clones to grow they never let me down.
Never used rockwool but just fixing to start literally. Never use anything but water for my clones and, like you, have great success. I use a large 7-11 drink cup with black gorilla tape wrapped around it to occlude all light. Same with the drink top covered with odd pieces to block all light. I change water daily with water left overnight to dissipate most chloramine but some helps retard bacterial overgrowth. Built a single 5-gallon DWC and a 22-gallon 4-holer DWC and fixing to drop 4 Paradise Seeds Vertigo and 1 RP Kandy Kush in Root Shooters to test them out. Will be using rockwool with pumice in both units when I transplant from the Root Shooter dome. +rep for solid advice and obvious knowledge. The thing about rockwool is it seems to be a little more complicated than other mediums but it just takes a couple tries til get it dialed in IMO. I don't put the cutting in the hole that's already there i make a separate hole to the side, if you put it in the hole that is already there most likely the clone is just gonna be floating in the hole and will not root from my experience i have never had success with that. i always put a dome and spray 2-3 times a day maintaining condensation inside the dome at all times. also when you prepare the rockwool I always dip it into the 5.0-5.5 ph water real quick and fling the excess water from the cube so its not completely saturated making sure not to squeeze the cube at all. I do not apply any hormones or additives i would prefer not to and the clones i have done with plain water always seem to be happier (many people will advise you otherwise but that's how I do it).as for watering all I do is spray the cube lightly with the spray bottle I do not water it as I would with soil i find it to over saturate the medium and drown the clone. here is an example of a couple clone I have recently cut
(I believe the mother plant should be in top health so the clone can have a better chance)
DAY 3 SINCE THEY WERE CUT FROM THE MOTHER (as you can see I make a whole slightly to the side of the pre-existing hole)

Good luck hope this helps.
so i should only spray the inside of the dome and not the leaves? so do you still use rockwool or coir plugs? what are coir plugs anyway?looking good with those new clones, but remember spray the dome not the clone just let the water evaporate.
In my opinion Coco coir plugs are a lot easier to clone in and a little more forgiving
I had trouble as well when I first switched to rockwool I basically learned from trial and error.
Some will droop but should perk up tomorrow.so i should trim the smaller leaves so its just one straight clone? btw when i took the cuttings they were upright and started drooping really fast so i watered them as quick as i could but no change
ive been using a t5 which has to be a few inches away for good effect so its kinda bushier, im guessing theyll all grow to be tall because theyre going towards the light when i transplant them and switch my t5 for a hps am i right? You are doing alright for starters. I personally let my moms stretch so there is more room between nodes which makes for a taller clones. I also strip the stem up to the top node when cutting them. Soak the rockwool in a grozyme ph'd mix for at least an hour then let it drip dry (not wet but really moist). Dip the cut clone in a clone gel and stick it in the rockwool. Once your tray is full or how ever many you want, mist them with plain water and put a dome on it. I use domes with vents and to start the vent is only slightly open. For the first few days I remove the dome, wipe it all out open and the vent a tad more, fan the clones, mist them and put the dome back on. Within a week you should have the vent fully open and no need to mist again because you should have some roots. If you soaked the rockwool enough at start you shouldn't need to water it but if you do, plain ph'd water is what i use until they are rooted.
Ya, once they are established with roots you will see them get taller. I use T12's in a shop light the bulbs are aquarium/grow bulbs. I keep the light about a foot to a foot and a half from the top of the dome.ive been using a t5 which has to be a few inches away for good effect so its kinda bushier, im guessing theyll all grow to be tall because theyre going towards the light when i transplant them and switch my t5 for a hps am i right?
Yes only spray the dome not the clone. I'm using rockwool at the moment and don't plan on changing anytime soonso i should only spray the inside of the dome and not the leaves? so do you still use rockwool or coir plugs? what are coir plugs anyway?

but I started with Coco and it made me feel like i was the shit at cloning LOL it was a lot easier for me
(Coco coir plugs are made of compressed coconut fibers if i remember correctly as apposed to rockwool which is made from volcanic minerals)
hey mate i see youve cut a few of the leaves on your clones that wouldnt be down to dark blotches on them would it?Here are my clones done exaclty like this,
Soak my rockwool cubs at 5.5 ph plain water. shake the cub tell the excess water come out but still moist. poke small hole in the cube set in the clone tray and set aside.
Fine the cutting I want cut it with a razor blade on a 45 degree anngle. Then I make small cuts all the way up the stem from the bottom for about 2.5 cm, flip the clone and repeat. I cut the first 1/4 of the big leafs off, dip the clone in rooting jell and then gentally push the clone into the premade hole in the rockwool. I turn the rockwool cube with the clone in it upside down so the water come up to th clone stem and then flip it back over and into the dome. Once Im done I mist all the clones with 5.5ph water and under the lights they go.

This picture was take for you 6 hours after they where cut, no drooping. They look reall good. Somthing else I find is the smaller shoots with the tender stems seem to do really good for clones, although I have hear they take longer to strech, not sure I have only been sucessful in the way I just showed you
