Not horrible at all. The new HPS horticultural bulbs veg plants wonderfully. I use HPS from start too finish with zero ill effects.I know people do it but I as juss curious how much yeild is lost and what all the pros and cons anyone have experience with this. And the same post count as of your posting!I'm begginning to share th same opinion with you alexander
Never tried that bulb before. Its about time for a new bulb so I may give one a go. Hortilux and Sunmaster have been my bulbs of choice. Hortilux being my all time favorite....thanks for the recommendation....Use the Philips SON-T ARGO if you are going to veg with HPS. It has about 30% more blue spectrum.
That's what i use. The light looks less orange and more yellow.Use the Philips SON-T ARGO if you are going to veg with HPS. It has about 30% more blue spectrum.

This is what I have always used with great results but have recently changed to t5s for veg. Does anyone think the blue spectrum in the son-t argo will be a waste since I'm not going to be vegging under these bulbs would I be better off using a bulb that is 100% about the flowering spectrum?Use the Philips SON-T ARGO if you are going to veg with HPS. Probably the stretch from 12 hr dark period? Also before my mh broke I have tw rooms one for one for flowering mh for veg and hps for flowering. I alwas noticed whe I put then into the floweing room they juss took off under the hps immedietly
I would mix the spectrum of the bulbs in my T5 and compare the difference when you switch to HPS for flower. You bulb set up in the T5 now compared to the mix that is...trick questions are always fun..This is what I have always used with great results but have recently changed to t5s for veg.
