New to Hydroponics/Aeroponics and growing, new set up have a few questions...

Good morning RIU! I am a new grower and user of hydro/aeroponics...In this for the long haul and cant wait! I have a CFL grow going now in soil bc i thought that would be common sense besides learning nutes and air movement , ventilation etc... so basically i feel from the bit of research ive done on my own that having a grow space that is either a grow tent or actual frame work and building a room or actually just using a whole room in your house to be a grow room. In the future I will be building my own house and will recess a hidden grow room that you have to walk through an indoor closet to get too. :):hump: the dimensions i have no idea what will be yet but most likely run 4 x 1000 watt hps lights or just two on electric movers ... im very handy! But enough of the babble lets talk hydroponics!

So Ive looked at several designs online , flood and drain, ebb n flow, dwc, bubbleponics, aeroponics, etc... most of them had similar setups and with a little imagination Im designing my own.
Buying parts now as we speak..

IM USING CLONES!! (BLUE DREAM, WHITE CASTLE, AURORA

Strictly Flower 12/12 grow tent only
To start im most likely getting a grow tent @ 48x24x60" its like $90
Using a 35 Gallon Sterlite as a Reservoir
1000 Watt HPS air cooled reflector
1 6" inline fan
1 6" exhaust fan and filter and flex ducting.

Design:35 Gallon sterlite holds aeroponic pvc structure and sprayers, the bottom will be pump, water, air stones and bulkhead plug attached with ballvalve outside for draining
Airstones are for when roots get longer and sit in nutrient solution dont get root rot!

Questions:
How big of a pump will i need to spray like 15-25 spayers good 360 mist and pressure?
Will I be able to grow 16-24 plants in the grow space under one 1000 watt hps light
IF I PUT 68 watt cfl under neath the hps for bottom growth will that be too much ?
How often should I drain reservoir if im only flowering 8-10 weeks everytime from clone?
How much will i yield per plant if do more or less. would less plants be better or more if they are tied down?

I Need all the help I can get still learning and will be experimenting with different strains and ferts each grow going to have a F load of clones and i cant wait!
IF yall have any ferts that you just cant ever not use :-o and would refer anyone to it please give me some insight as I want budporn too!!!

for that many sprayers the ecopluse 633gph is perfect. you need a recycle time, look at cap.16-24 is a lot, i would do 8-10 under it. you will need to change res out every 2-3 weeks at the least.

Im looking to harvest about 3oz per plant if possible if thats easily obtained by growing less than I need to know before i start cutting into stuff lol! Oh and the grow area changed from previous to 96x48x78 so its a much bigger space to grow in so you think i can squeeze 16 plants in that space with one 1000 watt air cooled hps light? 8 in each tub, and ill run two aero tubs at 30 gallons a piece , can that same pump run both tubs or should i just buy 2 pumps 1 for each tub? Let me know...if you have anymore advice thanks
!!

this is not high pressure aero he is doing and the hydroshop pumps will do fine. i have only ever used ecoplus pumps and never had an issue. flow is what you need to worry about, not pressure.

My space is that size. I built mine out of 2x4 and plywood an sealed the entire thing for whenever I start running co2, I'm running 2 1000w's in there for 12 plants and am averaging 3.5 to 4 a plant. 1 light in there is not going to be enough to cover the whole space.

Depends on the Reflector Imo.
The new OG vertical hood would cover that area with only one.

But as stated 16-24 plants is too many. 8-12 would be ideal. If you are not under medical limits i advise extra security.

If no medical limit i would do a high density SOG standard flood and drain. Check out Al B Fuct's posts. Very knowledgeable guy and very helpful.

I do not believe you can get 24 plants in 4x2. But maybe 16 u cantry. It wont be big plants tho.

I always tell people.. I've done tubs SCROG style and then I've also done it bucket style and let the plant get big. I personally like to let the plants get big now.. fuck the sog/scrog.

As for the sprayer/mister I can't answer as I do airpump not water pump.

I also used a 600w HPS.. but had 40 w CFLS all around the tent. Like 4-5 of em hanging down the sides.

goodluck.. keep an open mind and just learn from different people.

although those og reflectors are sick the truth is they will not cover that space with just one, a 1kw per 4x4 is ideal (his and my space being x2 4x4 spaces) it sits at 62.5w per square foot (50w per square foot being the lowest recommended). with one 1k in a 4x8 space its only 31.25w per square foot so no matter the reflector it would not yield you well with just one, not sure if you where thinking a 2x4 space but he did say 96x48 was what he was going with i believe.

Thanks for all this wonderful and amazing feedback! I am running a aeroponic grow from what ive read up on stinkbud's aero/nft grow i am totally interested! Originally I was going to have a bigger tub filled with water and the water pump feeding two tubs above it that contain the pvc and misters , net pots, and hydroton. The two tubs on top would slightly be angled to allow for draining back into main rez. SO that was the original idea .....now that ive done a little more research i was told that you can have air stones in the water that pumps into the sprayers so when roots get long enough they will set in the water and act as dwc right? that would work/?

As far as the number of plants I decided to just do 12 total. 6 in each tub. since you guys have commented and research concludes moderate number of plants with room to grow and not crowded yield you good results!
With the one 1000 watt that would be substantial? Ive been looking on getting a light mover as well, for like $115 bucks . Will that be able to cover more plants?
I will get another 600watt or 1000 watt to add after this grow and still add the light mover most likely...

I am advising the safest method based on my own experience. Good pressure maintains flow. Without pressure blockages are frequent.

i understand where meangreen is coming from superstoner...he just saying more pressure equals good flow and more pressure prevents blockages which is common sense , maybe salts in nutrients i have no idea what would cause it but if you wont get it than you wouldnt have to worry anyways right. I would just need a rez to sit under the two tubs of 6 plants each, prolly would have to build a table for them to sit on.so it would drain properly back into the rez.......um more work no thanks! Like i said before im in this for the long haul so money will be spent, bc ill use everything, sure ill change designs learn more, learn what i like , learn what works for me and my life, etc... thats why everyone builds there own setup/grow room etc... blah blah...anyways i like both ideas and appreciate help on it when its constructed, not arguing in my thread thanks guys!

check my pics of my veg and flower systems in my thread, my 3 stages of flower, in hydro section. it might give you some ideas on your res.
i wasnt being ugly about the blockages, i was curious. i run aero and have never had a sprayer blocked and i dont use filters on pumps, so i wanted to know.

Heres the set up i built ....middle T fitting is threaded for the hose adapter to fit directly on to pump straight up!!!!.airstones cheap were siliconed to tub the night before and this pvc system will be powered by a 633gpm sump pump, i could just go buy a 2056gpm butt pump but that would mean i need a 3rd tub as the rez more pvc , draining etc....ill just use 4 pumps who cares!!!!!! i dont! got the money why not!

you guys think theres to many sprayers?
