Howdy there fellas.
I had a few questions about my new purging set up. I just picked up the MityVac MV8000 Automotive Test and Bleed Kit. So, having just bought the vacuum, I hurried right over to another close store and got a vacuum-styled FoodSaver for pretty cheap. Here is the pump and the food saver vac chamber.

As it turns out, when I got home, the Foodsaver "nozzle" or whatever you want to call it, the place where you attach the vacuum pump tubing, the MityVac inserts just don't properly fit into the FoodSaver design. I mean, I can hold a steady 20 inHG, but only when strongly holding my hand on it with pressure, so it obviously wont fit. Lesson learned. BUT, I just now ordered this this fine looking desiccator right here http://www.amazon.com/Bel-Art-Scienceware-420200000-Polypropylene-Desiccator/dp/B002VBW9RS/ref=pd_sbs_indust_7 (hope it's okay to post an amazon link here) So once I get that baby I will be ready to purge some good stuff......I THINK...
I have a few questions. I was thinking about getting an electric vac pump as well, since i plan on making more of it, but I was wondering your guys' opinions on on hand pump VS electric. Is there REALLY a difference other than you don't have to pump it for just a minute?
My real question is....will an electronic vacuum actually put out better oil? Manual vac pump versus Electric vac pump - i'd love to hear opionions.
Thanks in advance!! I am actually a pretty old member, I just browse, I don't usually ever post.
Be well, friends <3
