Will My Plants Recover From A Severe Fungus Gnat Infestation?

Hey everyone! I had a fungus gnat infestation a while ago and my plants put up a big fight, but they don't seem to be recovering :( It's been more than a week since I got rid of the gnats. What's the next step for their recovery? The bottom leaves are falling off, but the tops seem to be growing very gradually. Should I introduce nutes to the plants so they grow faster? I'm so confused!!!!

Hey whats up Islam I heard all you need is a few sets of leaves and you'll be fine. I am no expert but i am sure you'll be fine. I would add nutes if you feel it is right just make sure not to over do it. I think I would wait a bit and get those plants some water. I am assuming the maggots got your roots pretty good but they must be able to bring in some water if the leaves on the top are perky.

First I thought I had just a few house flies, so I spent about 10 minutes trying to vacuum all that were there. I saw that the condition was not getting better. I wanted an organic-only way to kill them. Thanks to the people at RIU they had diagnosed the plant problems as gnats being the source. Youtube suggested I make an organic insecticide comprised of peppers, water and dish soap, but it didn't do anything and ended up sticking up the whole grow room. Went to a local hydro shop and purchased yellow sticky paper and caught tons of gnats, though the problem still persisted. I had no choice but to purchase an insecticidal soap from Home depot. Armed with the insecticide spray I yelled the same phrase in the same manner as the gentleman in this video (1:06-1:13): [video=youtube;Yaw7qX_ZDNE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yaw7qX_ZDNE[/video]

There are almost no gnats now!

I'm afraid my plants won't survive! :(

Ya..bad gnats infestion comes from over watering.. Worried most about plant#2 . Her stems are limp so she not transporting properly.

Its hard to say whether they will be okay. You can almost guarantee that you did not get all of the gnats, no matter what. Also, having to use pesticide? This may sting a bit, but maybe to yank them now ( they don't look to be that far along) and start fresh after a complete fumigation; only way to be sure they are gone. It would be unfortunate to hang in there and in the end resulting in another infestation and zero harvest. Ever tried going Hydro?

if you put about an inch of sand on top of the soil inside the pots, it will suffocate any larvae and eggs that are down there. i also put sand in my drainage plate under the pot to cover the drain holes. worked like a charm for me to get rid of the little fuckers

Ya I took care of that! I realized there was too much water in there, but I can't seem to understand where these gnats came from. I''ve never seen these bastards in my life. Once I put in the sticky traps they all started diving towards them, that's when I got a good look at them and realized they aren't fruit flies lol. my smallest plants (a seedling and the second smallest plant in the tent) have bot grown in over a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm planning on getting rid of them :(

This growing is hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could socialize with people from this forum in person :(

Oh no!!!!! I feared this :( The tops seem to be sprouting new leaves though. I'll give them another 2 weeks before I decide on whether to toss them out or not. I'll germinate some seeds right now just in case and veg them in another closet.

I read that hydro weed is not as good as soil grown. I'm too stupid to set up a hydro system and don't have the the money to even make a DIY hydro system :(
