Was the book by Garden Knowm? The CFL grow book? So you used 6 bulbs for 2 plants, right?
It was the Buds for Less book, and I really didn't follow it, the only thing similar is that I used similar soil, besides that I used 4x 68w cfls with 1x 23w. Grew 2 plants, and now curently have 7 seedlings and one plant at 6+ weeks.

What kind of yield on the two? 10-12g on one, right?
I average, from 4 different plants total from previous grows and this one, 13g dry. This is with little care, fed with tap water, no feeding, and small pots. With training/prunning, bigger pots, nutes, and more care. I'm sure you can push that into the 3/4 of a zip range or more I'm sure. I've seen others do it on here, but not everyone on here is completely truthful on what they are doing, behind the computer screen.

Alright here is a picture of Bonnie on week 6. I'll have many more on week seven. She is filling out nicely, but I feel like the fans leaves are coming off too early, and they aren't super dead/yellow/dried up when they come off. I have no nutes so I can't really do anything about it, but anyways. Here is a quick pic.

Just ordered all my equipment for my 600w hps cab. Now just got to build the cab, wait for the stuff to come, and start growing.

Haven't ordered the seeds yet, but I got plants ready to go when my cab is all setup. I'm hoping friends can hook me up with seeds until I can order some.

Well, no pictures this update. Nothing crazy has happened so yeah.

Some things that have been happen are leading my in the right step to fat, tall, huge, sticky buds. I made a very cheap and bad looking veg cab, but it pretty nice. The 6 Bonnie Baby plants got put in there last night, I'll see how they do. I also tried fimming the most mature plant out of the 6, to see what would happen, fingers crossed. Hopefully they do well, they are udner 3x 13w CFLs and surrounded y 3x 2 bulb T5s. Don't know exact wattage of T5 bulbs, but if I can remember right its 15 to 28 range. The lights and whole box is pretty "ghetto" but will work and will make small improvements as I can daily.

As for Bonnie, she is looking well. She has a wonderful, almost sour smell to her. The pistils are starting to turn to a nice pinkish/dark/bright/orange color. Looks awesome to the human-eye, but sadly I don't have a state-of-the-art camera haha. To my eye, and scope, a lot of the trichs are already turning cloudy. I think this will be a good couch-lock high, from the early trich producing and fast aging from clear to cloudy. Honestly if she finishes in 3 more weeks, I can see her only giving me maybe 3-4 grams dry. Anything above that I'll be happy. My nutrients should come before her harvest so maybe I can fatten her up and get her tastey before shes chopped.

Keep getting e-mails of different items shipping to me. Can't wait to get my 600 watt cab running, and found out my kwh is only 8 cents an hour, meaning my 600 will only cost about 17$ a month. Niiiice.

Wi'll be back with pictures at sometime soon, might get bored later and just take some.

What do you think could be done with 4 42w per plant, two plants..ounce each possible going 12-12 from seed?
with a total of 168w over two plants, you won't get a zip each. With those bulbs I'd focus on one plant and if you do great growing it I would guess 3/4 of a zip.

I ran 270w+ and the two plants I just harvest got about a zip together.

Got to remember though, I didn't cover my plants well with CFLs on side and bottom, I never fed, kept them in small pots.

That's what I was thinking, you had your grow planned out so you could spend little time with your plants and had great success! If I used 1gal pots with coco and coco nutes and placed 4-5 42w CFLs all around them from top to bottom..would that be a good beginner setup? I figured a box that could hold 3-4 plants with that light setup, I could possibly have a little perpetual grow going..any thoughts?

P.s. Sorry for killing your thread with questions!!

Oh its fine about the thread, about to kill it after Bonnie is finished to start my 600w hps thread.

I say with 1g or 2g pots, coco and coco nutes, 4-5 42w bulbs you'll be good for a nice setup.

Expect 1/2 zip on yield, 1 zip yield maximum, per plant. My rule of thumb is 150w per plant, but adding more plants its like 50w per plant. I dnot know exactly but yeah. Trial and errorr is thee best way to learn.

For a perpetual grow, you have to start plants every certain time period, to make sure you are harvest every week to 2 weeks to month to 2 months. A lot to talk about.

If you dont want to kill the thread with responses, feel free to message me. I'm good with honest, truthful, CFL results.

As fun as this great 12/12fs thread was, I got a total of 5 grows under this method, 3 recorded, and I was just not getting the results I need. So sadly, in a week or two this thread will be ending, and I will be moving up with the big boys. Building myself a nice 4ft long 3ft tall veg cab with around 350w CFLs, as well as building as very nice 3 foot by 3 foot by 6 foot flowering cab, with an awesome 600w HPS cooltube. Hoping utilities doesn't bust over $30, kwh is about 8 cent were I live.

Since I still got one lady left in the 12/12 area, she is still getting most of the lighting and all the attention in this thread. She is now surrounded by 3x 68w CFLs, not include the other 23s and 68s in the area with a small sprout. She hasn't gotten much taller, I will get exact measurements later when I post the pictures, but I'm thinking she is only about 6 inches. She has a very bright green color, leaves are getting a little dry and crispy around the edges, some kind of nute defi but I got no nutes so nothing to do about it. I did give her a nice flush so that should make her little happier. She is a nice tight solid bud, swelling up nicely. Super, super crystally, a lot of trichs turning a solid milky color, think I'll give her another week to two weeks. I see a lot of the mature hairs that have changed color are getting an awesome dark red color, so I might let her go longer to see some other potentional. Hopefully she will swell up nicely these last few weeks and expecting maybe an eighth from her. Not a lot but hell she was a fun little plant.

Pictures and such will be posted later tonight.

Happy Smokin,
AllDay

Here are the pictures of Bonnie, I forgot I added dirt so she lost height. She is 4 1/2 to 5 inches tall, tiny, tiny, tiny. Smells super sour, and lookin' mighty bright green. Seven weeks, 1 day from seed. Day 50.

Well in a few weeks when I chop Bonnie it will be the end of my 12/12fs days. Just couldn't get the yields I wanted and it just wasn't what I expect, but a great learn period for now that I have more "professional" gear to use.

Anyways, Bonnie is looking great, she is really getting fat, looks a lot fatter then the last pictures I posted. I fed her AN Bud Candy and Big Bud today, hopefully with the few weeks left that she'll be able to benefit from the nutes somewhat, if not oh well.

I'll be posting pictures when she hits week 8 in a couple days.

Lookin real nice, I've been following this thread since I joined. Even though you're not getting the weight you wanted it should still smoke well right?! And yes, the learning experience and equipment you've picked up along the way is whats going to make your next grow awesome.

Good luck on your next grow, two cabs should be much better, you can start vegging while the previous batch is flowering. Thinking about something similar as I have space to build a similar sized veg cab next to the closet.
