in post 270, he expressed his dislike for lies "to get elected".

he agreed that there is a difference between bad promises and outright lies, and then tried to use the two interchangeably. no fair.

The way I read it, "bad promises" and "lies to get elected" are interchangeable. I see "bad" in this case meaning "dishonest or fraudulent".
We may differ in how we interpret it, but if it truly made no difference, you would not have done the edit. My opinion. cn

was just chasing the nitty gritty.

fact is he is trying to have his cake and eat it too. he is trying to acknowledge the difference between a promise and a lie and then use them interchangeably.

Fact - The Romney campaign stated that they would not be run by fact checkers. Now I don't know how you can spin that - it means that they are not beholding to truth.

they say in essence, that they will continue to lie to the American people. Obama has not done this.

Fact - they misrepresent Obama's welfare policy, they misrepresent his medicare policy - AND hid the fact that they will do what they accuse Obama of doing

And FACT - they claimed that Obama shuttered a factory that was closed before he took office.


These things I state are checkable - they are indisputable and you are doing everything in your power to obfuscate or misrepresent or divert. If you wish we can talk about Obama's distortions and lies but they are not relevent to the moral aspects of this current, jaded practice.


How do you respond to the lies of men who claim to be upstanding moral, and religious?

Were Obama to air 5 different ads, each stating that Romney was a child molester, and further, when called on that outright falsehood their representation claimed that we can't know he is not, or the population knows that he has the behavior of a child molester and finally that even if the lable of child molester is improper Obama intended to continue stating he was - would you take issue?

amused at the biased prognostications by either side. Oh, we KNOW Romney will win - how? cause that is what we want to happen.


Obama will take the prez, by a landslide - why? cause that is what they want to happen.


Reality is that there are far too many variables from women's votes to speding to registration to voter turn out to voter suppression to the weather on that day.

a promise cannot be verified as a lie. it is a promise, it is something that may or may not happen later.

a demonstrable lie can be fact checked, it is verifiable.

you tried to make the two equal.

lol..we actually speaking of my oldest..I got her a car when she graduated high-school. When she graduated college this year she thought I was getting her a new car, until she received her actually gift . When she told me what she really wanted. I said that I would get her a new car. She knows she will either get it for birthday or Xmas...it's Xmas
