lol where are you seriously getting this all from? you think cause militiary weapons cost more that means there not better? heres little insight.. they just get charged more! cause its for the military and government meaning theyll spend more! if you take same piece of equipment that was 500 for the military usually pays 1500 for same piece equipment.. why? because they pay alot more for same thing... While there are alot of great civilian made guns i highly dought they can go up against alot militarys weapons.. ive used alot them. and not saying there just better cause only automatic. and i qaurantee you the armor they have now is better then anything civilian can get... your looking at all old military surplus shit they used to get.

BTW you really think bunch civilians can do better then a trained soldier? someone thats done nothing but train to fight, had combat training etc. And yes if there was a civil war revolution outbreak you really dont think the government wouldnt take action againts its own people? such as using planes... come on now.. if it came down to it they would. question is how many of the soldiers, airmen, sailors etc. would drop there shit and go home ? I know many that would say fuck this... and leave take care there families. yet there still probably be many thatd stay an try enforce marshall law if came down to that

Depends what bases your trying overtake and get the weapons from... While im sure if the shit hit the fan, many wouldnt be guarded well or well at all. I know many that would probably take off go home take care of there own families. lol and it sounds like your brothers just not a very good shot, with or without army training. no offense btw. and yeah the army isnt the greatest at training esp. depending on your mos.

We have plenty of studies that indicate that people will bow to authority when pressured. Most people tend to let their authoritarian side drive their actions and their morality and ehtics consistantly take second place to orders - even in the civilian population. You can believe all you want that our army would drop their weapons and go home but that is not what studies over many years indicate will happen - nor does history support your view. Abu Graeb, Mai Lai are just two incidences where folks do what they are told and even sometimes embelish those commands.

Voter ID, I am refering to the fact that states are demanding voters present specific ID in order for those voters to cast a ballot - how do you feel about that?

there are no FEMA interment camps - I don't know where you get this idea but I would certainly like to know as my hobby is tracking down the sources of such nonesense.

I recall that elements of the right - while I was still active in DU, were claiming that Bush was arranging a military coup and he would enforce his permanent presidency with force on the day Obama took the oath of office. No amount of reason could prevail. I think these guys, like Doe and the Heaven's gate crowd offed themselves rather than discover that they were wrong.


I wish I could claim that only the right wrapped themselves in such foolishness.

To me, the classic example in my adult lifetime of such mob psychology gone awry was the Y2K fear of massive computer shutdown ... sort of Skynet in reverse. Civilization was gonna seize up solid, to the naked delight of chiliasts everywhere. I actually made money on that one, as I was an active trader at the time. Ohhh there were some sweet scam cos to sell short. The IT guy came around with bright-green Y2K COMPLIANT stickers for our desktop machines. I put one on a hammer and another on an SKS rifle. cn

I lost a job because I stated the truth over y2k. I was asked in an intense interview what I would do to secure a city's computer network against y2k failures.

I said "nothing, because nothing is going to happen". As it turns out I was interviewed a year later for the same job. I lost it because I couldn't help myself and said "nothing happened to your network - did it" - they grew embarassed for a moment - and then I was shown the door for the second time.
