How do I hide my grow from the baby sitter.

I have a grow going in the closet of my spare room right off my living room. I had lots of temp problems last grow but I finally got them figured out. I run my lights at night (from 4 p.m.-10 a.m.) and I have to keep the door open to the spare room. The closet is sealed off but some light still comes out of the intake, and the exhaust fan is incredibly loud when the door is open. I'm going to be getting a new babysitter starting wednesday. She does not know, nor do I want her to know, that I grow pot. She will be coming to my house twice a week from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Though looking into the room isn't an instant giveaway (it looks more like a storage room for a surplus of baby stuff and random junk) the closet definitely looks unusual with the black poly zipper door, the loud noise, and the bright light leaking from a hole in the bottom. I would hate for her to be like wtf is this, and open up the zipper and find my little garden. Any suggestions on what to do about my dilemma?

You go buy a lock and put it on the door and take the key with you where ever you go. That simple.

what chrishydro said, and if there's light leaks you can bet there's odor leaks; get them fixed.

Put a door sweep on the door, lock it, and explain that "it is your office, with equipment running inside, so in case any noise is heard, do not bother being concerned as it is normal".

I'm gonna head to the hardware store and pick up a door handle with a lock tomorrow and install it tomorrow night. Putting a lock on that door has been on my to do list for a long time anyways. The only problem is I cannot run the lights with the door closed. It gets way too hot too fast. The way I see it I have two options, switch the light schedule on the plants so the lights are off when she is here (it would have to be 16-8, wednesdays shes here at 2:30 and gone by 9:30, and fridays shes here from 3:00 to 10:30ish so I would have to run the lights 2:30-10:30 everyday), or I could go ahead and kick back to 12-12 early. My plants are not even three weeks yet, but I plan on keeping them in small containers the whole way so switching this early isn't that big of a deal I guess, it will just change my game plan up a bit. Any thoughts? I'm gonna go water them right now so I'll take some pictures and post em up and you guys can let me know what you think.

No odor leaks. Major negative pressure in the closet. All air goes through the carbon filter before it gets out. The light leak is through the intake. Up until this babysitter security wasn't a major issue at my place. I only got the carbon filter for some peace of mind.

Like I said, tell her it is your "office" and don't worry about noises that may be heard from inside.
Lock it, you should be fine.

lol for real. Easy as that. Unless you wanna share it with her.

Yeah get a lock for the door and one of those door signs that says "office" from an office supply store like office max or staples. Put it on the door and bam. Problem solved. Since it's a female you can make up some bullshit like. . . .. Yeah the Air conditioning unit module is in the wall behind my office. Don't mind the noise. blah blah.

How would you go about switching the light schedule on growing plants? Should I keep them on through the current dark period and then turn them off when it is time for new dark period to begin? Or should I turn them off at the start of the normal dark period and turn them on at the new lights on time? Am I over thinking this? Extended dark seems more natural than extended light. We have cloudy days and things that cause shade, but the sun doesn't randomly decide to stay up at night.

If they're in veg, go with extended light. If they're in flower, go with extended dark.

i just changed my schedule. if they're in flower, as long as the plants get 12 or more hours of dark before you switch the time, they will be fine.
