What happened to conservatism?

The party espousing conservatism turned weird when they were taken over by the frigging religious right. Their political issues were then crossed with social issues producing a bastard party, subservient to the rich and influential.

That same bogus crap keeps getting repeated over and over by the liberal neem bots.... That study is about "social conservativism", not fiscal and certainly not some political party labeled as conservative.... You people live in such a small mental place.

That is alot like my saing that you aren't talking about me cause I am a progressive. Currently, conservative means socail as well as fiscal and Republican means conservative.

The GOP IS a socially conservative party. In fact, the party was hijacked decades ago by the Moral Majority: and its never been the same since.

Read the current GOP platform and try to tell me it isnt socially conservative.

BTW most Republicans in congress are very conservative in their social views....that's not an opinion, that's just based off the voting record.
 
Yup, if the conservatives get their way, Star Trek ain't never gonna happen.

Unless the crew is made up of rich, old white guys.

It remains hard to convince some conservatives that we really do have space travel capabilities.

One could rightly ask, what happened to liberalism? I think they are both still around but their respective party's have been hijacked.

B5 is too complex for you? It's a saga, while Star Trek is episodal. There are character interactions which go beyond good and bad. It's like what we have now. Two sides can be enemies but best friends, while best friends are bitter enemies. B5 deals with taboo subjects Star Trek would never touch. B5 also doesn't use bullshit scientific jargon fillers, it's real life, just with better toys than we have now.
