Does ANYONE know about financing Solar Panels for your house w/legal op.?!?

Hey there RIU, I'm looking at options and what all will be involved concerning the financing of Solar Panels if it were for a residential home with a legal op.

The lease deal is silly as all hell as you don't get much of a break in power and zero real tax breaks it seems.

I surely don't have 40-80K to just buy them out right.

I'm curious though to know, if I chose to finance them, what all is involved? Is there some sort of an inspector that needs to come out to see EVERYTHING? OR what's the deal? I have an Electrician that is very trustworthy but I caught wind that there may be more to it like some sort of inspection that could potentially compromise even a legal op. as I'm sure most of you are all aware.

Let me know, point me in the right direction, hook me up big time....Anything that can help is GREATLY appreciated and I'm willing to help in anyway that I can possibly lend for sure.

Leases might just not be all that silly just sayin. Not sure on your location so maybe it's different there, but there's enough competition around me to get a really good deal.

Permits and all that are involved for any installation. So an inspector comes out yes, but they don't need to come inside the house if the system is installed completely externally. You don't even need to be there. You'll also need to get the system registered and approved with the power company if you're running on the grid. If you lease, the lessor will deal with everything for you.

BUT, a sub-panel, built by my electrician, sits on the other side of that same wall, just inside more, that the main power/breakers sit on the outside of. The electric company's meter and gas is all there right on the outside by the main power/breaker box as well.

So, considering that, would you think that the inspector or anyone else would need to somehow at anytime be inside the house, considering the garage as part of the house?

I might be a little confused...but, besides the sub-panel that sits inside the garage, I'd assume all other wires would be pulled straight through the back of the main panel....Solar to compensate the entire house's electrical use.
So, basically there's the outside main panel, sub-panel, a structure inside of the garage, and a sub-panel, I think/assume built straight out of the main panel....I'd have to double check and even ask the electrician tomorrow to be 100% sure though.
Understood on the potential for a rescheduled inspect though....Hmmm, thank you for the info her man!

I work as a solar panel installer for a local company in my area. There will need to be an inspection of the installation by the local town electrical inspector. Typically for us that is arranged by our electrician. He will want to meet with the electrician to discuss random info, wires, fuses, grounds, etc. He will also want to look at the components of the system, subpanel, inverters, D/C disconnects, A/C disconnects. as long as you said your electrician was cool he might be able to help guide the inspector away from your stash and only show him the stuff he needs to see. As long as your stash could be concealed from plain sight, and away from any of theose components for about 1- 1 1/2 weeks than you should be good. As far as re-inspections, those typically don't happen unless there is something wrong. there are really not many moving parts, so not much to go wrong. most have 20 year warranties, and depending on the state and incentives about a 4-5 year payoff timeframe. The website listing incentives for each state can be found here:http://www.dsireusa.org/I am also trying to install panels on my house and will probably pursue the financing and not the lease for the same reason I did not lease my truck. Solar panels generally add about 4-4.5% to the value of the home, also depending on the area.

I wouldn't say anything about your grow even though your legal in your state cause its still federally illegal and the feds can still take everything you own if they bust you. so they might be less likely to finance you.

Very unlikely if he's doing it legit, who cares about the federal government anyways?

i would calculate your electric costs and substitute your grow op for an elaborate fish tank (or tanks if need be) that uses the same amount of electricity.

of course i have no experience with this but thats what i'd do...i'd try to fool them into thinking its for something else. i'd never admit i grow mj. of course you could run all your equipment but just grow fruits or veggies inside instead of mj and they may not be none the wiser. its worth a shot imo

Most of those are junk. Sunpower is the way to go, they are the most efficient. Usually they are probably about $5/watt installed. You will only get a warranty if you use an authorized installer.
