Setting up C.A.P Ebb and Grow

I suggest raising the buckets 1-2" above the controll bucket, it is not personal preference but a flaw with the cap system if all buckets are level with control bucket you will notice water sitting in the bottom of the buckets after drain cycle. This causes problems in later flower/veg when roots hit the bottom of the lower bucket, the sitting water stagnates quick in the site due to black buckets sitting under high intensity lights. The roots sit in stagnate water causes sick plants and root rot.
Or you can put a 1.5" pvc spacer pipe in between both buckets.

Another question. So it doesn't matter how much water is in my reservoir right, as far as flooding wise? What do you guys use to raise the whole buckets entirely? Just trying to think of ideas. I went and tried out my system without reading this thread again, and it flooded my buckets to the top to the point where hydroton was coming out. And the controller bucket and the other buckets are on the same level.

Thanks

Did you wash your hydroton? If it's wet it dosnt flote that much. And no you can't have the brain bucket that far below the others.

Or why not just raise the pots 1.5 inches lol, the roots in my pic would have still hit the bottom o the pots even with a 1.5" spacer it's the water in the lower bucket that causes the problem not the space between the two buckets lol don't think you understood the entire post or haven't run the system to understand what I'm talking about.

I've run the system for a while. Its common knowledge that putting spacers in works.

I have the pumps installed right. The drain is in the drain holes. And the flood is in the flood holes. So why exactly did water keep and keep on coming? Was it cause there was about 40 gal in there for 12 buckets? I didn't think it mattered.

Does the water keep on coming even with it unplugged or when the pump is off after filling? WHat I'm getting at is: Did you install that special elbow connector with the hole in the bottom of it (located in the main reservoir "out" hole) It is the elbow with the silver tape on it. Thinking maybe you have a siphon going on there if everything else is correct

Good point. I forgot about that. The Titan has a small hole on both fittings of the res so I'm guessing the cap dose as well.

I had a question about that as well. I could figure out a way for the elbow to be in there with the grommet and have enough to left to put a hose over. I have the elbow out of the water though. So I know that it is not that problem. I am going to home depot to get material to raise my pots. Hopefully this is my problem. I've had to sit there manually watering them.(Sitting next to the power outlet switching the plugs)

OK so the slave buckets were lower such that they kept overflowing thus the float valve in the controller never was able to turn it off?

Sometimes basement floors are sloped to a drain. I had it set up once where the controller was 1 inch higher than the farthest bucket, same result:overflow

I'm gonna say this.!!!! CAP sucks. Get your money back and go with Titan. I've had 6 footers no problem for 1/3 the price of the monster. And 15 plants at that. NOne of this make it work. It just worked. Yes I hate R&M

My buddy grows with the Titan. There are problems with it as well. (Do not quote me on that, he just tells me he wishes he went with a different system.)
