2240 watts worth of cfl = 33440 lumens is it enough

hey dudes im wondering is 2240 watts cfl enough to grow 50 purple strain clones in a 8x7x5 space vegging only 4 weeks and flowering 9 and still get 1 ounce dry per clone....also i use miracle grow which has a 3% (p) slow nute release...would it hurt to add this stuff i found called E.B. STONE ORGANICS ULTRA BLOOM PLANT FOOD WHICH HAS 0-10-10 DURING FLOWERING WITHOUGHT OVER FERTING MY GIRLS WITH(P)?? ALL COMMENTS WELCOME EXCEPT THAT DEBATE ABOUT CFLS AND HPS AND OR WHATEVER....CFL'S IS WHAT I WAS GIVIN AND THATS WHAT IT IS FOR NOW....LOL!!

The yields that youre hoping for are really ambitious, and you're not going to get them with CFLs. Lets do the math:
1 oz/plant x 50 plants = 50 oz. x 1 lb/16oz = 3.125 lbs. It's plausible with 2kw HPS, but it's not going to happen with CFLs. I'm not trying to be a hater, but you just gotta realize that this is a reality.

Are the lights you have t5's? If you have t5s your best best is to SOG or SCROG.
If you SOG, start flowering them right after the clones are rooted. You can possibly give em a week of veg to get nice and rooted, but having tall plants wont help you as t5's can't penetrate a canopy.
If you're heart is set on vegging longer, you need to use a screen. With t5's you need a dense, even canopy to make things work.

Good luck man.

Just consider your returns... 2000 watts is a lot of electricity no matter what kind of lighting you use. If you invest in HPS, it'll increase your yield and the extra buds will easily cover your initial investment.

But if you really want to use t5's, ya better SOG or SCRoG

Look up the tek 4 from htg. 20k lumens, with reflector for 150 bucks. If not id vote for a single 600w which is 90 k lumens.

well obviously you guys cant read

short answer is probably not going to yeild almost 4 lbs theres too many variables.

first off its your first grow, things are bound to go wrong. its great to set high expectations but dont be discouraged when you dont get what you want just improve for the next grow.

you can do pretty good with CFL's i know i have and many others on here, but like mentioned above your wasting alot of money on electricity pumping 2k+ watts of them but thats your call. keep your plants small, let the clones root then put them right into flower when they reach about 8-12 inches tall, lollypop the underneath and shoot for 1 good main cola per clone, you might be able to get 1/2-3/4 a Oz off each plant and get close to your goal, hell you might even reach it.

if your going to hit your goal you need to make sure all of your other enviormental conditions are good, temp/humidity/air exchange all need to be good otherwise your going to stress them plants and they wont produce. 2kw of CFL is going to produce alot of heat your going to need to remedy that,

good luck man

Affdghj kyung ligdt lldstc. Just joking I can actually read and write. I will refrain from giving advice in the futur though. Have fun wiring and replacing all them bulbs

I grow with CFL's and my last harvest was a tad over 40z from three plants under 750 actual watts. Now that you know where I'm coming from I have to say your plan is overly ambitious. That's just too many fucking bulbs and they will produce heat a lot with that many therefore my advice would be to go hps or cut down on the number of plants you want to grow.

thanks retiredmathebrute...thats all i was asking...its my3rd grow,i grew my last grow with those same lights and yeilded 3 to 3 1/2 ounces per plant ...with 5 plants in 7 gallon pots ...i was jus tryna grow 1 ounce in that same space with more plants...but i knew the hps and mh guys would say some dumb shit bout which lights to use...and for the record i love growing and the wires and moving lights is cool with me ...and also those 2240 watts cfl only use 748 actual watts so its much better for me and my humidity stays at 49- 52 % and my temps stay 80 -85 and 72- 75 at night with 2 galaxy fans soooooooooo?? str8 answers would be so dam cool wwoow!!!

Aren't those 2240 "watts equivalent"? CFLs tend to run 70 lumens or so per real watt. So you've probably got closer to 500 watts actual. With that much power being used, a 600W HID would be cheaper to get and a better grow light. cn

LOL 40 ounces from 750 watts of cfl?

You do realize that equates to 1.51 grams per watt. With cfls... really..... I just went to mars, true story. I have no proof but I really did. I promise.

And for the idiots who failed math class 40 ounces is ~1133 grams. 1133/750watts = 1.5106666666667

Maybe he meant 4 oz not 40z. 40 ounces off three plants under cfl...I don't beleive that claim.

Excuse me I meant 4 0z not 40 excuse my typo. Now may I please have my credibility back.
Oh good. I know people on here love to make the most bullshit claims to toot the horns of cfl and led. 4oz isn't that bad pulled 5oz off one plant with a 400w hps/mh

Must admit never heard of Waterfarm strictly a soil grower myself. But with those kinds of yields I'd like to know more.

Well to answer your question, IMO no I don't think it's enough to grow 50 plants. That's quite a bit even for 750 watts.
