Posted my comment before i read this. Well said. Why don't people research at least a little bit before they start growing? Why would you go out and spend the $$ on all the shit to grow and not SOMEWHAT know how to use it?
I'm not trying to blast you OP, I'm just the kind of person that wont spend money on something without researching it.. Before I decided on using Fox Farms and spending $20 a bag on the shit, I researched all the different kinds of soils available and it was immediately evident after reading up on a few searches of ffof that, it's too god damned hot for seedlings.
I research my lights, my nutes.... School yourself a little, there's a ton of information here. Then you wont waste money and burn up plants..
So since you didn't read up on ffof very well, how did you come to the conclusion that it's the best?
Start your seeds in Light Warrior, after they have their 3rd set of leaves, then you can transplant them, but I would suggest a mix of FF soils.. I've posted a good mix, but if you want it you can search for it. LOL...
Where's that veg-bloom thread at? How's that stuff working for you? I getting ready to start a run with it in my Fox Farm mix.. The only thing I'll be adding to the vegbloom regimen is a shot of silica blast here and there and MAYBE a bit of molasses. It smells sweet enough though. I mixed a little up for a plant today (it's been on maxi-bloom) and I wanted to drink the koolaid lol.I agree, too hot for seedlings. Check my Veg+Bloom thread below and you can see how well it works with established cuttings, but seedlings... too much available nitrogen. You could also try mixing it 1 part ocean forest to 3 parts perlite, rock wool, or sand. Start your seedlings in rock wool, on 2nd - 3rd set of leaves transplant to amended ffof. I look forward to seeing how those seeds turn out. Keep us posted!
Someone is probably going to come along and say this guys is being a dick, or isnt being kind to new growers/members but that is BS if someone says that. People expect to come here, have everyone answer there questions and tell them how to grow. Its one thing to not be able to find something.. but at least attempt to search. Theres a great search tool on this site. This site has been up for years and years, 95% of any info you could ever need is on this site.
