I've had back problems for about 5 years, the stiffness never seems to subside. I've been cracking it everyday, multiple times, ever since it starting hurting. I don't think it's going to get any better anytime soon. You learn to do what you have to do to get by, be it smoke some green, get massages, take prescription pain killers, etc. If it were my choice, I'd much rather be able to smoke something natural than pop pills.

It looks like HB5938 is dead in the water, there have been no actions take since 3/14/2008

But SB2865 has been approved for consideration and has had a Third Reading Deadline Established As May 31, 2008

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the bill as amended. Changes the name of the Act to the Compassionate Use of Medical Marijuana Pilot Program Act. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall issue registry identification cards to up to 1,2000 qualifying patients. Provides that the Act is repealed 3 years after its effective date. Provides that the maximum plants that may be possessed are 7 dried plants. Repeals the research provisions of the Cannabis Control Act. Effective immediately.

What the fuck?

They're limiting the amount of recipients of cards? So if there are 12,001 patients in need, fuck em?

And also, the act is automatically repealed 3 years after its enactment. Did I read that correctly?

Unfortunately, my residency isn't in Illinois, but Ohio. So I think I may just contact the representatives for where I am living right now and let them know that their district supports the bill, me at least, and hopefully he won't question it.

Only amendment 1-3 of the bill was has been adopted thus far, amendment 4 has been filed but not adopted yet, and hopefully it will be rejected in favor of more compassionate rules. The 4th amended version still needs a second reading, it must be before May 31.
