PRO-MIX® BX MYCORRHIZAE™is a general purpose peat-based growing medium containing, a beneficial mycorrhizal inoculum (Glomus intraradices). Designed for general greenhouse use and transplanting applications.
Ingredients:
• Canadian Sphagnum peat moss (75-85 % / volume)
• Perlite -horticultural grade
• Vermiculite - horticultural grade
• Dolomitic and Calcitic limestone (pH adjuster)
• Wetting Agent
• Mycorrhizae - endomycorrhizal fungi (Glomus intraradices)

any one use it and is it good?

i used it with great results, it grew me some consistent 10 ft plants. no complaints. you still gotta use nutes and everything, its just super airy and contains myco so your roots grow like nobody's buisness!! my 10 gal containers were root bound in no time.

yeah well at just about 30 bucks for a 3.8cft compressed bundle sounds like a good deal same size as the sunshine mix4 and bigger then advancemix and cheaper.

I too have used it with great success too. The mycorrhizal charge is limited and I find adding more is beneficial. I also add 3 3/4 cups of dolomitic lime per bale. I pay $30 each too, east coast. Very consistant, very available and works nicely.

not to sure on availability, but have seen it the few times i have been in there. lately they have been out of foxfarms lightwarrior and oceanforrest. so be stuck travling for it, wouldnt mind trying out that or some coco or something/ this is somewhat like coco right i know its got like peat moss but like consistinsy like ground coco or canna bag coco.

You're a fuckin douche bag bro if you really think my comment to your indirect question was at all serious. Smoke a fucking bowl pal. Your question regarding how much lime to add to a gallon of dirt is a sophisticated one let me tell ya. Who the fuck measures dirt in gallons anyways? Cubic feet is more standard, even in Canada. I certainly wasn't trying to be a smart ass, I actually figured you thought Pro mix was soil seeming you called it dirt, common mistake and one that I was trying to clear up for other members, yourself included. I hope this clears up the misconceptions, now I'm gonna go start the day with a couple dabs of BubbaWreck oil and go do some serious watering.

to answer your question, i as of lately started to measure out my pro mix in gallons. i do mines in layers adding something in each layer, mainly bennies and perlite, to make sure my soil dries out evenly. i use root pruning pots and the bottom half always dries out before the top half so when i take my babies from cups and place them into their new home i have no choice but to measure out my mix.
also would like to know the how much dolomite lime per gallon of soil? when you find the answer let me know.

2tbl of lime/gallon of mix. Better yet, add 1cup/cf (7.5 gallons) before use.

In the future, mix everything together. The layering isn't all that effective or worthwhile.

I think it measures to around 1.25- 1.5 heaping tablespoons per gallon. Lime breaks down very slowly, over a couple of months, so it doesn't have to be exact. But don't over-do it either as too much will inhibit Calcium uptake and could toxify the soil. Also, the finer the lime, the quicker it breaks down. Course or pellitized lime breaks down slower.

It should say it on the bag, whether it's fine or course. Look for agricultural lime too- it's the same thing.

Doesn't matter. The pellitized is nothing more than fine lime formed into pellets with a fast dissolving binder. The first watering releases it.

I have and use both. The pellets are for ease of application. If you've ever tried to spread powdered lime outside with a breeze you really appreciate it.

I HAVE used promix (my version) for close to 40 years with no complaints or need to change.
