Grow box - pots or bins?

hey guys, I'm about to get two female clones that I'll be placing in my 39"x15"x26" (l, w, h) box. I've got two 15 liter (roughly 4 gal) plastic bins (lightproofed), something like this:

Would it be a good idea to do a soil grow in these bins since they would save me a lot of space (heightwise) and would (in my opinion) be good for LST? Do the roots need more vertical room or would it not be an issue? Any other reasons why I should ditch these and go with the classic pots?

Thanks.

I dont see it working out so well with only 26" tall. Even a clf bulbs like 3" thick. Now your down to under 2ft to grow a plant full term and have space for your medium.

well, I'm planning on growing more horizontally than vertically with the help of LST and will probably veg for only a month or less so it won't grow as big.

@ scroglodyteL: I mentioned they'd be lightproofed. Still no good?

any other comments on bins and my lack of vert space?

If you are planning on growing smaller short plants, with a short veg period, then those totes are overkill. You could easily get away with a 3gal pot/bucket/tote.
