If you had :
-almost all red hairs, others golden, none white
-about 25/75 ratio of amber to cloudy trichs
-plants at day 40 of flower
-indica dom hybrid with a 49-56 day flower period
-looking for a mix of head/body high with more of a heady high desired
-swollen calyxes

Would you start a 10 day flush and harvest? (give or take a day depending on the look of em) last feeding was yesterday with bat guano...im in soil outside in SoCal, using a 45x loupe to view trichs

Thanks guys, i really dont want too many amber trichs and its developing fast bit i dont wanna harvest too early either

I go mostly by how the hairs are receding as the best indicator of ripeness. Yours look like they could go a little more. Just stop giving nutes and decide in a week.

I think yes, start flushing, if you're gonna give 10 days it looks like you will swell a little more.
Thinking the same thing, i really dont want those amber/narcotic trichs and there are plenty now

If i wait a week then do a 10 day.flush that puts me at 17 days from now...i heard ALL the hairs going in is a sign your gonna get those couchlock highs....i dont think ill have any milky trichs left! Lol how fast do they mature at this point? Im.serious when i say there's amber everywhere i put my loupe

For a heady high the trichs need to be cloudy white. The more amber you get the more body high you get.

Looks good, go with your gut and start your flush. In a week or so see how it looks and harvest at will. It's not set in stone, you know how heavy you have been nuting them chemicaly and what not. A week or so would be great and you'll gain some swelling and weight. If you can go 10 or more than bonus, either way she's going to be ready any day now.

You don't understand. Stopping nutes is all the "flush" you need. Shouldn't be giving them a lot of water at the end of flower.

sounds good man i think thats what i am gonna do. About half the hairs are rusty-red and the others are golden about to turn rusty...gonna stop all nutes and just harvest when i get about 80-90% red hairs. The trichs should be fine for about a week to 10 days i think, if the amber gets out of control or i see severe degradation imma probably pull just the top half of the plant and let the bottom go a little longer...imma get some better pics up, the ones here are of some lower buds on one of my LST'd bushes which have almost all red hairs for some odd reason, theyre also a little more airy then the top buds tho so im not complaining. The rest of the plant is about 50/50 red/golden hairs (they were bright white at the onset) but with dense, swollen buds

Ok perfect! I was on the fence about whether i should do the whole 3x gallon size of the pot in water. Imma water every other day but increase the amount by 1 gallon to get those salts out (been having to give a gallon each everyday with the heat but its cooling down now).

Thanks everyone that responded too, even if i didnt reply directly i appreciate your responses and the help!

Outside in soil with organic nutes there is no need to flush at all. Flushing is used to rid the plant of the remainder of chem & inorganic compounds that are in the soil/medium and in the plant ( as used in hydro grows ). Since I don't use inorganic material to grow, I see no need to flush. Since you used bat poop which is organic, whats being flushed out? if you want to count the days of flushing from the last feeding, there is no need to count the bat poop feeding, maybe count from the previous feeding if you fed it with something else. Thusly if you wished to harvest now you should go right ahead and do it.

Just my 2 cents

Yea im using the bat guano as a bloom booster for some extra P. I use molasses as well for some extra K....however, my main nute line is Fox Farm and i feed pretty heavy with the Tiger and Big Bloom. Fed heavy with the Big Grow too....Fox Farm is low on the salt index but i still feel a flush is necessary. I took a sample a while ago and i got a really heady high but it ashed white. I have a vaporizer im going to use to sample this weekend and then go from there regarding my original post. Giving about a Tbsp of molasses tomorrow with 2 tsp of the Tiger bloom and stopping with the nutes until harvest.

I definitely get what your saying though, i fed with the fox farms this past monday so I could start the flushing time from then, but i want to get the most out of these buds so might give em a final blast with the FF tomorrow then water only for about 7-12 days until i harvest. I dont think theyre done yet just so everyone knows. I just want to stop nutes about 7-10 days before harvest and i know its getting close. aLSO my dog knocked off a small lower branch that was budding, i hung it to dry and it got real airy so im thinking this is a sign to wit at least one more week.

Lol i thought 14 was excessive so i lowered it to 10...what would you recommend? By flush i mean no nutes, lil extra water ...not doing that whole 3x pot size in gallons thing
Why not just 2 waterings? meaning 6 day if you water every other day................ But remember, after the first flush, your soil is going to be wetter than a regular water, so it will take longer before next water :)
