Sup people im changing to dwc on my next grow 5 gallon, i would like to know. How much nutes u spend on 3 month old plant 1 month veg 2 flowering. Also what nutrients are good for dwc i heard of Dyna gro?? Oh another thing if seedlings/clones are on rockwool how would be the watering at the beggining? As soil until roots reach water? And then begging to run the pump?

Well dyna grow is cheap 15-17 dollars a bottle that would last you few grows, and you don't need all the unnecessary additives like other products. It does give above average results for sure, I used a mix of mag-pro and bloom from dynagrow with excellent results for my desired npk ratio.

Nothing is "cheap" in growing for sure but the end result is worth the price.

I have pulled 6 harvests (single plants no taller than 30") and I am still on my first 1-ltr containers of nutrients. I use AN A&B Bloom ($33.00 at the local hydro shop for both) Kangaroots ($15.00 at local hydro shop) Aquashield ($14.00 at local shop). I only change out my rez once every 4-6 weeks and I should be able to harvest another 10 or so plants before I will need to buy more. Some folks will say you need to clean rez every week or two tops, I have found the plants grow just the same doing them every 4-6 weeks.

i notice when i change it every week they plant seem to grow faster than if i wait 2 to 3 weeks to change it. and it took less time from seed to harvest. just my two cents.

you gave the roots a air bath and they love this = this also tells you that just a lil' more air threw that stone cant hurt ! all about that explosive growth huh !! my soil buddy was freakin shocked ( so the roots just sit in the water and dont drown! ) lol

some people also claim, the longer you go without switching out your nutrients batch, the more build up of the different kinds of nutrients there will be in the reservoir. I am currently doing a trial run with a single plant and using 5+ years old nutrients. I started out with clean water the first two days and then EC 1.2 on the 2nd day, then after 8 days I mixed a new batch with EC 1.72 (people suggest EC 1.4 I think, but I studied my nutrients schedule sheet from their website, and they suggested 1.7). This batch I got going for 13 days now and she is looking great, the EC is currently at 1.3 and i'll keep this batch going for awhile still. All this time I keep an eye on the PH and I add more water to the reservoir as it lowers in the tank. I use regular tapwater that's been out over night, I keep the PH at 5,8. These last couple of days PH been going down a lot, I try not to let it go down more then 0.5 before adding more water to get my 5.8. It is said that if you let your PH go up and down too much, and you have to raise and lower the PH with 1 or more levels at one time, it will shock the plant.
Damn I am stoned right now, where was I ? hehe, well maybe i will make a real journal of my current grow some day

edit: because of the so-called build up, only add clean water and no nutrients, only add nutrients when mixing a new batch for reservoir. That's what I'v learned at least.

2nd edit: The first couple of days with clean water, I make sure that the water level inside the reservoir is very high so it's got the rockwool cube submerged and airstones beneath.

just the fact that your ph is dropping that much should tell you something is wrong. i sometimes go 5-7 days without checking any of my res's and my ph is always stable after the first couple of days of a new res. it is very rare that i actually have to adjust and then it is only .2-.3

yes I am keeping an eye out, in just half a day, today, it went from 5.8 to 5.1. There might be lightleaks in my reservoir, but I think maybe it could also be natural byproduct from the plant, when it takes in nutrients something is left behind. I noticed I also went from EC 1.3 to EC 1.1 within the same time. My reservoir can only hold aprox. 6 liters and the root system is getting quiet big, my plant is probably wanting a new batch soon.

Thank you for respons and if anyone else got anything to add, please do. I am in no way a pro-grower. I Would like to hear more thoughts or corrections.

bigger bucket. 6 liters is not enough.

yeah I am thinking that this is the reason I experience such drastic PH changes. This is just a test run with some old nutrients and old sativa-dominant strain, I wanted to see how well she would do with these nutrients and not use too much of it. Next up is going to be "Pyramidseeds Super Hash" indica, new buckets, and I bought a few bubble bags to try out on sativa and indica :)
