250w bulb on a 600w ballast it is possible?

hi guys , i have bought a 600w kit with an 600w ballast and a 600w hps bulb. i also have a 250w mh bulb , and i want to start a new grow using for vegetation the 600w ballast+ 250w mh light but i want to know if this possible, i am afraid to put this bulb caz i am thinking to not blow up my ballast, what do you think it possible ? Or to use in vegetation and flowering exclusivly the 600w hps bulb.? The ballast is CONTROL GEAR BLACKBOX 600 W HPS/MH , THX

sure you can do it, if you want to blow the bulb and possibly burn your house down. come on, use common sense. 600w ballast is for 600w bulbs.

Really? Do you think the ballasts are rated at a certain wattage for shits and giggles? Come on, you're going to blow the bulb, possible ruin the ballast and you just might burn your house to the ground. You bought a 600w ballast. Use a 600w bulb. The end. No ifs ands or buts. You use a 600w MH in veg and a 600w MPS in flower.

thx guys , i am lucky i asked before testing my idea :)) i also like to know if using a 250w mh light +250w ballast is better or wors than a 600 HPS light +600w ballast for VEGETATION ? whatt would you recomand to do?

Once you got a suitable ballast for that 250w mh bulb I'd section off veg room/cab and a separate flowering room, that way you can eventually have a perpetual harvest. :leaf:

And yeah dude, 250w bulb ain't gonna do much good in the 600w ballast at all, fuck these assholes man you'll learn everything you need to know eventually, just takes time!

Well despite what people say, I have and you CAN run a 250W lamp from a 600W ballast; is it NOT recommended, but I have never seen a confirmed fire due to a ballast blowing a lower rated lamp.

I also used a 400W lamp in a 600W ballast for almost two years, same lamp at that, imagine the horror when the fluffy buds were harvested. :wall:

OP you can run that 250W lamp but why? There's is no outcome where it is a good idea.

im just asking questions, i dont know why some people are so "smart", if i know it i didnt asked. Thx for those who responded politetly. Xrange , i don't want to make a perpetual grow caw i dont have enough space ,what i really want to know is what is best . An MH 250W WICH I KNOW IS VERY GOOD FOR VEGETATION OR A 600 HPS bulb wich is good for flowering? But i am asking just for vegetation only, .

Just throwing it out there. If you do decide to try out the 250W bulb in the 600W ballast will you set up a cam-corder on tripod and post the vid?
