I may regret this cause last time I brought it up this guy started cussin and threating me lol.
I been using orchid food from lowes for a couple years. the veg is 20-15-13 and the bloom is 11-35-13. They have micro's. They cost about 5 bucks a pound each. I add cal/mag and protekt and get great results. Can't see spendin big bucks for diluted 6 or more part nutes. Someday I might find the time to try organic, but till then I see no reason to switch.

Kellogg or Epsoma, $8-$10 for a four pound bag of all purpose organic fertilizer. Last all year. Buy at lowes or home depot. Mix with water and you have an instant te? Apply as is and you have a fertilizer that last two to three months per application

No....not at any garden store....even at my local hydro shop all you can get is expensive ass Branded products...also OSH doesn't carry any raw material and they are an orchard supply I don't think anywhere close to me sells this stuff

..
Yeah any serious garden store. Not a hardware store or a hydro store (only seen bottled nutes also). Atleast where I am anyway I'm probably in a different country to you though.

I buy all my macronutrients in 2.5 kg bags for like 10 bucks max each.

Try source a store that specializes in gardening only and I guarentee you should find everything you need

Thanks for the links....

I am going to say this right now.... Some of the best bud I have ever smoked was grown with Osmocote and Miracle Grow. No B.S.

I personally run a brandname nute... cause of ease of use for myself.... but am in the process of refining my just add water dirt mix....

MY buddies outdoor, home blended nute grown stuff like ya'll are talking about here is also amazing... and he said it cost him like $15-$20 a season if that.... and he said would be even cheaper but its the initial buying all the bags of all the stuff you need the first time that gets you.... Then again it lasts forever he said... some stuff he has had for a couple years now and still barely 1/2 way into the bag.

You can buy 2.2 lbs of GH MaxiBloom powder which has all the N-P-K-Mg a plant needs for under $20. That is less than $10 a lb. Use it the entire grow at 7 grams/gal. That treats 142 gallons per bag for under $20. It's even cheaper per lb if you buy bigger bags.

I will stand by my feeling that it is very nitpicky to talk about the price of nutes. Relative to the crop it is such a minimal cost.

Maybe when you are actually getting yields and know how to maximize the crop....when you are a new grower with a budget and only pull a half ounce off a plant to smoke and not sell nutes become a huge part of your growing cost

All grown organically using Kellogg fertilizer and potting soil. Ferts is $8-$10 per bag, the soil is $4 a bag. Figure $20-$30 per plant total. No pHing, no weekly feedings, no BS to mess with. I water with city tap water from the water hose (use a soaker line to conserve water) and fertilize in spring and again in fall.

Ok, Vindicated you've inspired me. I was at Menard's today and they had all their garden stuff on clearance. I picked up a 4# bag of Jobes all purpose organic fert, it's 3-3-3 and a bag of Jobes Vegtable & Tomato Organic Fertilizer 2-7-4. I'm gonna mix some a the all purpose up in to my soil less mix, add water?, umm do I need to let it set a couple weeks for the microbes and enzymes and stuff to get going? I have some fresh clones to use. I have way enough plants flowering now so I can experiment with the organics to see if it is noticeably different. Any tips are appreciated. You mentioned tea, bout how much would you add to a gallon of water? Tablespoon? OOps am I hijacking this thread, should I start a new thread for this?

Your "budget" is why you are only getting half an ounce from a plant. Spend the money and you will make money!

I spent most of my "budget" on lights and fans and dehumidifier and more lights and fans, but have been growing stuff like this with $5 nutes. To be fair I bought some organics today and soon as I figure out the ratio to add to my soil I am going to grow 3 or 4 plants using all organic. But spending lotsa money on nutes aint necessarily gonna get ya more bud.

So I forgot what I was doing but I came across this website http://www.kelp4less.com and I looked around for maybe 10 minutes and realized.......I could buy everything I need from this website in soluble powders for a fraction of the cost at buying expensive ass branded products like Advance Nutrient or General Hydro.....You can buy like pounds of Soluble nitrogen and Potash for like $20/LB .......1 pound for $20......you could spend about $100 at this website and have the same amount of nutes in raw form as $500-$1000 in bottles of liquid nutes from companies like AN, GH and many others......I'm sure many people have known this....I just didn't know how easy and cheap it was too find these Ingredients and How easy it is to obtain them....

I am never buying a Humic acid product again after seeing this website.....They sell an 80% humic acid powder....1Lb for $12.....at my local hydro shop NBT sells a 30% humic powder....probably only 8oz for probably $30....Amazing.....Seeing this website just turned my world upside down when it comes to buying nutrients....

Anyone else care to comment on this??
...this is how we did it back in the day...then came general hydro and we got lazy...ppl think a three part nute is all that...try a 20 part mix....lol....i get just as good results either way...

That, and .5-1ml per gal of nute solution of Dyna Gro Pro Tekt,is all a budget noob grower needs.Imho of course.

A word of warning on buying raw individual nutes to make your own. There are molecular weight calculations needed for the right ratio.A bag of nutes wether it be K Gro,Miracle Gro,Maxibloom etc has the ratio's allready mixed.:weed:

..This and all the other work is why we started using gh in the first place, and it was water soluble in suspention...enter hydroponics.....it was and is worth the extra money to buy the premade nutes ,in a labour or learning curve savings ..yes, it might be good to keep a cartoon nute grow going while you learn the interactions of all the stuff we used to get from the local agro type store( here it was buckerfields)..its a learning curve for sure...i use pre mix now and find it worth the money verses time saved...but feel ripped off as its gotton stupid expensive due to marketing and fancy cartoon labels....oh well...jmho
