WTF makes stuff turn orange in room????

So a few years ago I just unplugged shit in the middle of a grow and left it for a while. Anything in the room in open air turned orange, and it's not a film, it's like part of the plastic. You can notice on the dehumidifier, white outlines where a box was touching it, so it stayed the original color there, but anything exposed to the open air turned orange.

Anyone seen this before?

I'm a bit worried, could the chinese fucking equipment be putting some shit in the air that "oxidizes" things? There were crystals on the outside of my ballast after it sat for a couple years in the room.

I also developed this rare (1 per 1 million population) disease nobody (top neuroscience doctor with phd) can figure out what's causing it, after $30k in tests, and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it.......the symptoms of the disease started about a year after I pulled the plug and stopped going in the room....and has really fucked my life over.

I aired it out for several days and have been cleaning things up but just wondering what the hell is going on......

I did have bud rot and left shit still in it's containers and then didn't go in the room for a year+.

Something in there, maybe varnished furniture, or something is giving off fumes in the stagnant warm air, kind of like a leather car interior will create a film on the inside of the windshield.
I'll bet if you get something like Soft Scrub, or Meguiars plastic polish and a towel, it will rub off of like the side of your dehumidifier.

That right there is scary man. Could be your house killing you. My last house was built in 1950 and had black mold. I couldnt breathe for the whole time we lived there. Now we live in a brand new house and i haven't felt better!

I'm in my late 20's totally normal, active, healthy outside of this, and never ever considered growing to be dangerous. I've had my face up close with rat shit, black mold, asbestos, you name it I just wanted to get the job done. (for myself flipping houses)

I was really worried at one point that I have this, which is fatal in nearly 100% of cases and it's everywhere but only gets you if your immune system is weak:
Aspergillosis is caused by a fungus (Aspergillus), which is commonly found growing on dead leaves, stored grain, compost piles, or in other decaying vegetation. It can also be found on marijuana leaves.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001326.htm
There are tons of other things just like that, not just that one fungus. All are really bad if they get into your system.

I'm on immune suppression therapy right now to stop my body from attacking something unknown, which creates these soft tumors of scar tissue inside my skull pushing on all the nerves. Almost lost my eye, most intense pains ever known, have to keep upping various meds while they're still trying to figure it out after 10 months. I'm going to new neurologists next week to get second and 3rd opinions from completely different neuroscience facilities, at the advice of my doctor. They took my spinal fluid and tons of blood and did every test they could and still don't know what's causing the shit they see on the MRI. Normally they'd do a biopsy but it couldn't be in a worse spot near the pituitary gland where all your face and eye nerves for the left side come together.

The worst part is nobody fucking believed me because it's so rare nobody has it, took 7 months to be taken seriously after I got an MRI then shit got real.

But uhhhh...I don't really want to tell my doctor I was growing herb and go down this conversation with him....

going to rub alcohol right now.

EDIT::RUBBING ALCOHOL HAS NO EFFECT. It seems to have changed the actual plastic.

Heat, light, cheep plastic will do that. If it isn't made to withstand heat or chemicals it will yellow under uv light after time. Take a empty milk jug in the sun. In a few days it's yellow. And sence it's mostly on the tops and not lower and where there was something covering it. (square thing on dehumidifier) I'm guessing the plastic isn't uv protected. There where ment for inside use.

They were never in light. The room has been closed shut with nothing on for over a year. Things set in the room turned orange that weren't ever in there with the grow going on...

Hence your name, Tumorhead? lol I get your comical relief and know you're trying to make light of your situation. I feel for you my man! They'll figure you out. Just give it some more time, not that you haven't already. You'll pull through this man...

I don't really care anymore if I die and I'm not depressed, just lost the ability to do what I was most passionate about in life.

But on a similar note I remember a news story where chinese drywall in new developments was causing some crazy oxidation that turned up all these toxic chemicals. I wonder if the plastic on my cool tubes or the ballasts or something could be doing something similar?

And how would you even get a tester like in that news story?

even affects this picture which used to be light/white clouds blue rather than orange...

Agreed. Look at the old Super Nintendos that went from gray to yellowish over the years. I've seen fans and air conditioners do it too, just like the op's. Sunlight and oxygen can discolor plastic over time. I highly highly doubt anything in the growroom caused the cysts or tumors in his skull (fuck that sounds rough, I feel for you).

Though both of my original NES' look brand new and let me tell ya, they got tons of light and thousands of hours of use each.

Feel your pain. I went undiagnosed for 7 months with a brain tumor. Of course, mine is regular cancer, not caused by an unknown disease. As for the discoloration, I'm going with the SNES theory...

all plastic goes through isopolymer oxidation that causes yellowing. Environmental factors can speed up this process such as UV, naturally acidic environment, heat and oxygen. Also certain plastics .. like super nes, space heater, ac units and ect are made with plastic containing flame retardent chemicals (to meet safety guidlines) that causes the eventual discoloration of the plastic. Also if you have an ozone generator still running anywhere that will cause the damage to the plastics (and other materials including you)
