Is a 600w HPS / MH overkill for a 3'x3'6' secret jardin tent?

Well, it sounds like you really want the 600 and there's something to be said for that. It's great to do what you want in life.

Please, keep me posted. If you can pull off a 600 without that much xtra effort maybe I'll consider the move myself.
Since it is fall and into winter now it's going to be a lot easier. I guess the real test will be next summer.

Dependent on strain and technique(soil/hydro). But with indica dominant strains in foxfarm filled 2 gallon smart pots with 6 plants at a time I shoot for 2 zips a plant. 1/2 gram a watt is my minimum, 3/4 watt is my average. The 600 concentrated in such a small area will reward you with some extremely dense nugs. I've seen guys with the dr90 and a 600 get a gram per watt only difference was they supplement co2 and leave it a sealed environment. With the extra co2 the ladys can take the heat better. My suggestion for if your worried about heat would be to add co2, even if its fermentation bottles or tanked gas. But if not, keep that air moving. Couple an intake with your exhaust. And AIR Cooled 600 is not an option in the dr90. It's mandatory.

I use a dr90 for flowering my lovely clones. 600w, cooltube, 6'' 475 cfm, temps hang around 80f. In the hot summer months, I tap into my central air and duct right into the tent. I rarely go over 80f. It can be done. Go with the 600! The difference is HUGE!

Do you close your jardin up completely? I mean all the socks closed and all the vents closed. Mine has to be closed up b/c it's in a living area.
I'd like to see a 600 run in a jardin with all vents closed and all socks closed. I run my 400 in my 3x3 jardin, air cooled, with lots of interior fannage. With all the vents closed and all the socks closed on a summer day or night even with ac in the room I can get into the 90's no problem. I don't have a high speed fan though, I'm using an inline fan from htg, 250cfm.

Maybe if I got a high speed fan I could pull it off too. I'm planning on getting a sunleaves with an htg tall boy since I think all my neighbors could smell my bud even outside the house last time. One guy behing me with a tie dye would just hang at the back fence sniffing around. He knew he could smell something.
