This is my first time. I made a DIY 60w led panel with 3w leds, 15 red and 5 blue. The total cost with aluminium, fan, thermal compound, wires etc was about 40$. Then I added a DIY humidifier, to keep the RH at 70%.I'm also using a CO2 generator with a pair of bottles of Coke, yeast and sugar. I don't want it to get to big, my grow box is 40*40*60 cm, so I was thinking about changing the cycle to 12-12. Now I'm on 18-6, so maybe shortening it by an hour every day for the next 6 days will be ok...This is how the Ssk looks after 14 days.

you forgot the Pics...........can you give some more specs(nm/lens angles/diode quality?) about your diy lamp.......
I don't really know about the quality of the leds, they came from China, mounted on aluminum stars. They are the cheapest I could find. The specs are:
Red leds: 660 nm, 2.2~2.6V, 750mA, 60-70 lumens, 120 degrees viewing angle.
Blue leds: 450-455nm, 3.4~3.8V, 700mA, 30-40 lumens, 120 degrees viewing angle.
I'm not using any lens. All leds are connected in series to a 680mA constant current driver, DC36-75V. They have been working for 3 months (experimenting with other plants) with no problem and very good results. They are running a little under they specs with this driver, but it's better for them and the light output is very good.
The leds are mounted on an aluminium profile, with a 12v 12cm fan blowing, they run pretty cold. The cabinet I'm using is very small, completely closed and the temp is only raised 4ºC with the leds on.
I think I'm going to change the light-dark cycle today.

who says that 660nm reds stresses plants??? looks great for 25 days.......whatever your doing works/ so keep it up grower......post more pics!
I made a mistake. When I switched to 12/12, 3 weeks ago, I put the ozone generator inside the grow box. The day after that, a lot of leaves were damaged and decolored, so I put the ozone generator back in the room. A lot of leaves died and I cutted some that were very damaged, but now the plant doesn't look so bad.
After 3 weeks of flowering and the ozone incident, how do you think it's going?

I can't, the leds take a month to arrive. This time 60 w is all I can give the plant. Will be good to add a pair of CFLs?
Some pics, 37 days flowering. I think I'll water it with nutes 5 more days, flush and wait 5 more days after that. In theory, it will be ready to harvest from 20th to 25th this month (according to the seed bank). What do you think?

I've been toying with doing the same and I was thinking of using these 6500k whites as a base then adding some red/blues

Those are very good, but for me too expensive. I would use something more affordable. The leds I bought are 1$ each.
As far as I know, white leds are not very important. My led panel is only blue and red and seems to work pretty well. Start with those and after that think about the white ones.
The drivers rated as 10-18pcs x 3w, work great with 15 red and 5 blue leds in series. Maybe too much blue, but I'm quite sure replacing one or two blues with a white one will do the trick. Anyway 15 red and 5 blue doesn't perform bad at all.
As I said, my entire configuration was about 40-50$ for my the key of the DIY is keeping the price low.
@puffenuff so arround two weeks, then flush and then, how many days with water only? I know is hard to guess only with pictures, but I will upload more pictures in a few days so you can see de progress and tell me what you think. I have a magnifier, next week i will upload pics of the trichs. Thank you very much.
